... heard her mother say: "Come on Lucy, time to go home!" "But my castle!" Lucy replied, really not wanting to go home yet.
"But it's time for dinner! Tommy and Maureen are waiting!" "No hungry, wanna play!" you reply. "You can play again toḿorrow!" her mom said, picking her up from behind.
"Noo!" Lucy yelled. She was about to cry when she realized her mommy was right, she was actually a bit hungry and maybe even tired. Also, throwing a tantrum would not help anybody, it'd only make mom's day more stressful and maybe make her mad at Lucy, so she tried to stay calm. "Hey, don't you want some peas and apple sauce baby?" her mom asked. For a second Lucy felt disgusted, then she realized her toddler taste buds actually loved the idea. Weird. "Otay!", she replied as her mom carried her out of the sandbox. She was buckled into a stroller, the pressure of the straps on it making her aware of the annoying diaper. Without thinking she pulled up her dress and started to peel off the diaper tape. "Do you need to go potty?" her mom asked. "Uh... no." Lucy replied, concentrating for a moment but feeling no need to go. "Then please leave your diaper alone. Remember, no taking it off unless we're going potty!" mom said. Lucy understood the rule made sense for a two-year-old, but still she'd have much preferred big girl panties or even wearing nothing at all under the dress. At least she already had some degree of potty training and wouldn't be forced to use the diaper.
Five minutes later, they arrived at home. "Hey mom, can you help me with my homework?" 10-year-old Tommy asked. Lucy rolled her eyes. The kid would never do his homework on his own, and she often had to help him when mom didn't have time. Well, at least that was out of the question for the moment. "Hi Tommy, I can help you in a minute if you help me make dinner afterwards. Just have to take Lucy to her room first." She unbuckled Lucy from the stroller and carried her upstairs to her room. To her amazement, Lucy discovered that the ring had not only transformed her body and made her family think it was normal for her to be a toddler, but had also turned her room into a nursery with a crib with at least a dozen stuffed animals in it, boxes full of toys, a changing table with a diaper pail next to it, cozy rugs on the floor and a huge plushy teddy bear seat. She remembered most of the furniture and the plushies from Maureen's and Tommy's childhood - apparently she now had her siblings' hand-me-downs rather than the other way around. Mommy sat her down on the floor, told her to play on her own for a while and closed the door.
Sensing a great opportunity to get rid of her diaper, Lucy ripped the tapes off as fast as her limited strength and dexterity allowed and stood up, happily took a few steps, crossed and uncrossed her legs, wiggled her butt and enjoyed the fresh air and the feeling of freedom. Looking into the mirror on the cupboard, she saw the knee-length dress was enough to keep her covered even when she bent over. She put her head between her legs and grinned at herself upside down in the mirror for a moment. She then picked up the apparently unused diaper she'd been wearing and looked for somewhere to hide it - mom wouldn't be pleased if she saw she'd taken it off on her own. For a moment she contemplated hiding it between the huge teddy bear's back and the wall, but then she found a much better place and shoved it under the cupboard, where it was completely invisible unless somebody would put their head on the ground looking for it.
Satisfied with her idea, Lucy contemplated what to do now.
