Lucy pulled on the fistful of sticks and squeezed her eyes shut as she yanked one free.
“You won Lucy.” Angela said.
The brunette tomboy opened her eyes and grinned.
“Alright, where are we going?” Sam asked.
“Well, I’ve always wanted to go to Venice with Colin…” Lucy blushed.
“Oh yeah, the boardwalk is suuuuper fun!” Jamie beamed, “I can drive you guys there!”
“Not in California, Jamie.” Lucy said, “The other one.”
“Other one?” Jamie asked with a head tilt.
The plane soared high in the clouds.
“WE’RE GOING TO ITALY?!” Jamie asked.
“You’re staying here, WE’RE going to Italy.” Lucy said as she gestured to the others.
“Why aren’t I coming?” Jamie pouted.
“Remember Las Vegas?” Sam asked.
“And Madi Gras?” Marinette added.
“And Miami?” said Lucy.
“Ohhhhhhh… right.” Jamie remembered.
“Okay, other question… how are we gonna pay for the four of us and Colin?” Sam asked.
“I’ve got it covered.” Lucy said as she went back into the apartment.
“Why did we come outside to like, talk about your trip?” Jamie asked.
“Well because… because… I’m not sure why, actually.” Sam replied.
Lucy came back with a huge jar full of dollars.
“Half of every paycheck I’ve made at the gym for the last few years.” Lucy said. “Enough for everyone to go.”
“Why not take everyone then?” Jamie asked.
“The whole point of this trip is taking a break from all the drama.” Sam sighed.
“Let things cool down around here, you know?” Lucy asked.
“We’ll take you next time we go.” Lucy said.
“Go where?” Colin asked as he walked up to them.

Colin took in a deep breath of that sweet spring Venice air as Lucy held his hand.
“Okay, where’s the hotel?” Sam huffed as she set the suitcases down.
“I didn’t book one.” Lucy said.
“What?!” The other three ladies yelled.
“Chill, chill, I’ve got this.” Lucy said as she walked up to a random door and knocked it with a huge smile.
“What is she doing?” Sam asked.
“Is she crying?” Marinette asked.
A greying brunette opened the door and asked, “Lucy?”
“Mamma!!!” Lucy cheered as she hugged her tightly.
The two cheered and hugged while the tomboy’s friends walked up surprised.
“That’s your mother?” Angela asked.
“Yeah, she moved back here when she divorced dad.” Lucy said. “I found out we’re she lived from Facebook.”
Lucy’s mother turned to look at the well built man her daughter clung to.
“Mamma, questo è il mio ragazzo Colin, viene dall'America.” Lucy said.
“Well, it’s very nice to meet you Colin.” Lucy’s Mom said as she hugged him and pecked his cheeks.
“I never knew you spoke Italian.” Sam said as she carried the luggage over.
Lucy’s mother took the bags “I taught my baby girl at a very young age miss…”
“Oh, Samantha, but call me Sam.” The blonde Amazon said with a handshake.
“Angela.” The platinum blonde said as she stepped up to her.
“Marinette” greeted the French girl.
“You girls can call me Viola.” The woman said as she set the bags inside.
“You mind helping my friends? Colin and I were gonna go sightseeing.” Lucy blushed as she hugged him.
“Anything you two want, bambina.” Her mother said with a forehead kiss.
The pair walked off as their friends went to get settled in…
