When Alex came to, it was to the warm sight of a fire, high above his head, a bronze coloured glimmer coming from the metal encasing it, but the next thing that came into his vision was much less appealing, and much more dangerous.
A set of jaws apeared above Alex's bead, the teeth in the maw of the creature where white and sharp, with large fangs on either side if the long mouth, a low growing rumbled from the beasts throat, a small wet nose was inches from his chin as black fur encased the rest of his field of view.
"Nubia, bring him to me" came a commanding woman's voice, then the beast locked its jaws around Alex's neck and dragged him accross the room to where the woman's voice came from, until it let him go, letting Alex fall to the ground like an empty sack, Alex then scurried to stand to assess what danger he was in.
Alex stood in what appeared to be some kind of bed chamber, the walls and floor made of some kind of plaster and sandstone, the walls decorated with drawings and hieroglyphics, six pillars lined each of the four walls, each with a snake holding a lantern in its mouth illuminating the room.
It was then that Alex spun at the sound if a growl and stumbled back at what he saw, it was a huge black dog, its fur short and clean cut, it's legs and body long and slender yet rippled with muscle, its head was lean and long, with large pointed ears that stood high above its head, it wore a golden collar around its neck and a fabric hood that ended at a point above its nose, holes cut for its ears as well as black leather shades above its eyes, and a golden ankh on the hoods forehead, this beast was a jackal.
The dog snarled at Alex, it's claws dug into the carpet in anticipation of attack, yet it only watched him, waiting either for an excuse to attack, or to be given the order.
It was then that Alex remembered the voice that commanded the Jackal before as he turned his head to look at the woman.
She lay on a type of sofa like bed, encased in a silk curtain that obscured her face and body.
"Whoever you are, please call your dog off, I have no idea who you are or where I am" said Alex, raising his hands up to show he was not armed.
Then the woman's silhouette got up from her bed and peaked through the silk, still hiding her face, but letting her eyes be seen, those deep brown eyes..
"Wait.... its you, I saw you in the mirror" said Alex as he took a step towards the woman, only to be stopped by the jackal as if put itself between him and the woman.
"Nubia come" commanded the woman, and the jackal turned to stand at its masters side as she emerged from the silk "my my, for a man you have some nerve doing you, almost as if you were a woman, but I can clearly see that's not the case" said the woman as she looked over Alex's body.
She was every bit as beautiful as she had been in the mirror, her neck draped in golden jewellery, her hair fair and golden, her eyes deep and commanding, and her breasts large and voluptuous.
"If your thinking of partaking in my body I'd think you had gone mad from the heat or that you simply possess on fear or knowledge of who I am" said the woman as she put her hands on her hips as she now told above Alex, the Stepps that raised the bed up from the room allowing her to look down at him.
"No I'm sorry miss, I don't know who you are, I don't even know where I am" said Alex as he looked around the room, to a balcony, only seeing the night sky outside.
The woman snapped her fingers to regain Alex's attention "Kneel before me" she spoke, Alex looked at her in confusion before the Jackal began to growl at him, so seeing no other option Alex got upon his knees and looked up at this mysterious woman.
"My name is Amunet, greate pharao of the moonlight pyramid, guardian of the sphinx, ruler if the pass of the jackals maw" she spoke as she took a crook and flail from her hips and crossed them over her chest, before pointing the crook in Alex's face.
"Now then stranger, tell me who YOU are, and how you passed through my fathers mirror" spoke Amunet, her voice demanding he answer fast, or face dire consequences.
"I am Alex" he said but as he did, she most bizarre thing began to happen, as he spoke hyrographic began to fly from his mouth, translucent and glowing silver as they hovered above his head.
"Alex" said Amunet as she reached out to make her finger follow the hylogliphs as if she were reading, that was until the pictures began to roll themselves up like a scroll and fell into Alex's lap, when Alex looked down he saw a statue with the face of a....
