As you look at your gun and try to work out how it works, someone else hits you with a ray.
Suddenly, you feel strange and your legs start to tingle. Assuming that the rays must be heated or something, you quickly move to an area where you can find cover.
Just as you reach the spot you aimed for, you feel a sudden pain in your legs and fall over forward. Looking at your legs, you suddenly notice that your body is swelling at the hips.
Suddenly, and without warning, a pair of legs burst out. You gasp in shock - what could be happening? - and are even more surprised when you realise that these legs aren't even human! They are coloured a dull green, and are scaly, like-
"-a lizard?" you say out loud. But how? You look at the gun again, this time in a new light. Perhaps - perhaps the rays of these guns are able to transform people! That would explain what is happening to you... partially. If someone used the gun to turn you into a lizard, you shouldn't be growing any new legs.
A second glance at the gun suddenly makes things clear. There is a dial there labeled 'TAUR' - as in 'centaur', people with the body of an animal from below the waist? You look back at your legs and realise that while you were lying there, thinking, from your waist down what once was a pair of legs has become the body of an oversized lizard. So that must be what has happened to you... you've become a lizard-'taur' of sorts.
Carefully getting up (your new legs move fairly easily), you check and find that the rest of your body is as human as ever. The gun, which you have been clutching tight ever since you were hit, now has a deeper meaning for you. You stand to your full height from behind your hiding place, raising the gun, and see if you, too, can play at this game...
