After about half a mile of walking, Lizzy's feet hurt. She only had one basic leather sandals, hardly fit for walking long distances. But after a couple of left turns and a right, she neared the brow of a hill. At the top was a wooden table, flanked on either side by tiki torches.
She approached it, seeing a scroll taped to a lectern. She read it aloud, for the benefit of the cameras. "From here, you may choose one of the animals on the envelopes in the drawer below." Lizzy bent to peer under, seeing there was a drawer and inadvertently giving the camera a look deep into her cleavage. "If you pick one, you'll have to Adapt, but you'll be at the first rest stop easily in time for the end of the day. If you don't, you'll have to take the path to the right and walk the long way."
Lizzy looked out, seeing the deep canyon into jungle before her, trees as far as the eye could see. How far from civilisation was she? And the rest stop... well, it was the other side of this deep bowl in the jungle, it'd take forever to walk around but she couldn't climb down into it. Maybe she should see what this Adapt idea was, after all, it was the point of this gameshow...
