She has the nerve to walk out from her little hiding place. Now that the panic has finally settled, she wants to make her way back to her camp without getting spotted by anyone. She was just another animal in the woods, nothing more, nothing less. She tried to dash from bush to bush, but it was hard to do that being a rabbit the size of a large dog. In her attempts at being careful, she stumbled into a large figure with black fur. It towered over her (even in her human form) and growled at her, making her more than a little bit nervous. It had massive paws, well-toned muscles, and it smelled like blood. She couldn’t really figure out whether she should run or not because the creature in front of her didn’t have a threatening aura. ‘Wait, this thing doesn’t want to kill me?’ she thought to herself. ‘Why do I smell blood on it?’ Abs slowly back away as she finally saw the eyes of the creature. It was a bear, and it was severely wounded. Sam had managed to bump into the leg of a grizzly bear that was barely standing on its own weight. Against her better judgement, she opted to be friendly with the beast.
“Hello! Excuse me, vicious creature? Can I get you some help?”
She was surprised to see the expression on the bear’s face change from pain to shock.
“You’re… speakin’ ta me? ‘nd I can actually understand ye!?”
Now it was Sam’s turn to be shocked. What she thought was a normal grizzly bear seemed to actually be a girl in a grizzly bear’s body. She was cursed just like Sam was. She couldn’t place her accent, but the bear made her voice deep and scruffy, like a woman four times her age. She couldn’t just leave the poor thing here, who knows what might attack her next.
“Here, my camp isn’t far from here, let’s get you somewhere safe.” Sam slowly guided her along, making sure she wasn’t going to collapse before she made it.
Back at her camp, the fire was dim, but still active. Despite her small size, she was actually stronger than she was before, so she easily stacked up logs to keep the fire lit and rekindled it so it would blaze again. She wrapped the bear in some bandages and gave her some water to make sure she was hydrated. After making sure she wouldn’t die overnight, Sam finally drifted off to sleep.
Waking up to the sun on the horizon, Sam was relieved to finally be back to a normal human body. She went to check on her guest only to see that her wounds had vanished. She didn’t wake the poor girl, but she could finally get a good look at her. She was small and frail-looking, looked to be around Sam’s age. She couldn’t have been more than 90 lbs, yet she was able to turn into a massive bear that looked over 600 lbs. The poor girl was unfortunately naked, so Sam set some spare clothes aside for her (making a mental note to leave a day early).
