As you are walking back to your fighting position you feel kind of disgusted with yourself for masturbating to a horse, but you also think it is at least partly due to the Militia's rule against fraternization while in the field causing that to be the closest you have had to sex in over 3 months.
When you make it back to your fighting position Jackson asks, What took you so long? I wanted to make sure I was quiet and wasn’t going to be seen, you reply. See anything, you ask? Nope, nothing. Not even a bird or squirrel, Jackson replies. You look at Jackson a little puzzled, interesting, I wonder if it doesn’t have something to do with the approaching storm, you reply.
As you curl up in the bottom of your position you can hear the wind starting to pick up speed with the storm approaching. When you hear someone quietly moving over to your position, causing you to stand up to see who it is. You look over and see Corporal Friesian. Friesian looks at you and says, get out, you and I have been ordered to check out a farmstead before the storm hits. Alright, you say as you put your weapon and bag on the outside of your fighting position to be able to climb out. After you climb out and put your bag on, you pick up your weapon and start moving with Friesian to the horses. How far away is it, you ask?
Friesian looks at you and says, far enough that we might not make it back in time, so be prepared. As you walk back to the horses, you look to the western sky at the storm coming. You say, it looks like if we are lucky, we have about an hour and a half before it hits. Well then we should get moving, Friesian says. We might end up having to spend the night there, Friesian adds.
As you mount Blaze you start to ride off with Friesian. You can hear the thunder from the storm in the distance roll through the valley. Friesian rides ahead of you by about 15-20 feet, and you try your best to maintain the spacing. Not knowing exactly where you are going, and not being familiar with this sector you try to keep a constant eye on Friesian. At the same time you try to still keep your head on a swivel.
As you are riding along, you are probably about 15 minutes away from camp when Friesian signals for you to halt. Friesian then points to the ground, where you see what appears to be a wagon track that appears to be only a couple days old. You see Friesian mark the spot on a map and make a small note in a notepad. You aren't sure if it's from a civilian or rebel wagon, and you think it was heading the way you are going. You see Friesian put the map and notepad away, and start riding again, so you start to move again. Hearing the storm getting ever closer. Sounds powerful, I hope we are getting close. you think to yourself.
