Sifting through the boxes of new merchandise, you finally find a costume that speaks to you: a brilliant feathered raptor costume, specifically one resembling a deinonychus. The costume is colored in a striped pattern of brown, tan, grey, and slate, with a soft white underside and yellow and red spots near the tips of the feathers. The costume looks almost real, save for the zipper hidden in the soft white down on the front.
You put the discarded costumes neatly back in their boxes before carrying your chosen one back to the front register. “I’ll take this one,” you say as you set it down on the counter.
“An excellent choice,” the shopkeeper says. “That’ll be $90.”
You pay for the costume and are preparing to leave when the shopkeeper offers to let you try it on now in the fitting room. Eager to try it on, you agree. He leads you to a room near the back. You step inside the room and lock the door behind you before stripping down to your underwear. You undo the zipper of the costume and slip your right leg inside. The costume’s legs fit snugly over your own as you pull the costume up over your abdomen. Next, you pull the sleeves over your arms and pull the zipper up halfway. After sliding the deinonychus mask over your scalp and tugging it down into place, you finish zipping up the zipper.
You turn towards the wall mirror and admire yourself in the life-like raptor suit. As you pose before the mirror, you notice something strange occurring - the tail is moving, and you can actually feel it!
