"-you get what I'm saying?"
Adam left his thoughts and focused back in on Robert.
"Yeah man, totally!"
Silence hung in the air.
"No you don't!"
"No I don't!"
The two said at once and broke into laughter.
"Hey, we're both pretty drunk... I'm here in a hotel, you wanna go back to my room?" Adam surprised himself, he hadn't expected to be so direct, and he spoke with a maturity that didn't feel like his.
Robert rested his head and arms on the table. A goofy smile ok his face. He smirked knowingly and with satisfaction.
"Yeah Brian, I'd love to go back to your room."
Adam paid their bill, handing the bartender a credit card while playfully pushing Robert away, insisting he'd rather pay.
The two walked out into the night. Multicolored lights filled the street, twinkling like stars on the tall glass buildings. Robert leaned into Brian.
"Is your hotel far from here?"
"Oh," Adam was caught off guard, "Not at all. I actually just walked into the first bar I found."
Robert, about a half head or so shorter than Adam, looked up at him.
"This your first time here?"
"Yeah, I'd never been here before."
They reached the hotel and crossed the lobby. While waiting for the elevator, Robert leaned on Adam again. Adam returned the gesture.
The elevator arrived and the two walked in. Alone.
Robert grins and steps closer to Adam. Raising his hands and running them up Adam's back.
A tingle ran down his spine. He looked into Robert's eyes, feeling the heat from his body.
