Jeff noticed a QR code pop up on his screen that read “Scan to pair with Mobile App?” It was an option that mildly surprised him. It was a pleasant surprise to be sure. The ability to use the Chronivac wherever he went? He couldn’t refuse convenience like that! Without hesitation he scanned the code and downloaded the app. It would require access to his camera and photos, as well as the microphone, but he figured he could immediately change the NSA’s mind should he get into any trouble.
The next day he went to school as if it were just another day like any other. Only this time he was in the mood to fuck around with his new mobile Chronivac and find out what it was capable of. As usual for his school he saw other students, friends and strangers alike, hanging out in their groups in the courtyard before class.
There were your usual groups that you see in high school: You had the cheerleaders hanging out at their table, the goths smoking and skulking in the trees, the card game nerds playing at a free table, the jocks playing hackysack, the miscellaneous friend groups with their own in-jokes, the business majors going over each other’s homework… Y’know, basic stuff. There’s even the popular, Regina George types strutting around in designer clothing and acting superior.
There was a menagerie of high school cliques and more he could experiment with, and even make any changes retroactively change history if he wanted. But who does he look at first?
