You suddenly landed on a paged titled "Centipede" and you were a bit confused. You didn't really of them as being big or important, plus they don't have paws so they don't have their print on book like many other arthropods and insects. But you were very curious so decided to check it out anyways. You were fascinated and amazed by the information on the pages of the book, the drawings and the texts were extremely informative. Although the book didn't have the paw print of the animal, it did have a drawing of the whole creature while as the others only shown parts of the animal. You were curious so you put your hand on the drawing. Suddenly, you feel a powerful jolt of electricity shoot through your hand.
The transformations begins with the feeling of your spine extending, vertebrae forming as your height steadily increases. you can feel new ribs coming into being as well, as your ribcage pursues your ever growing spine. At the same time, your arms and legs begin to thin down, quickly becoming impossibly narrow as your hands and feet shrink into their limbs.
Your little legs can no longer support your growing frame, and you fall forwards, catching yourself first on the wall, before falling sideways and only just managing to get your arms in under you before your face smashes into the floorboards.
You attempt to pick yourself off the floor. However, you arrive at a problem; your arms and legs combined are not enough to hold up your entire torso, and most of your still extending body is scrapping on the ground regardless of your efforts. Giving up, you flop on the floor, and as you do so, you feel your pelvis dissolve, fusing your legs parallel to your spine; you guess standing up will be considerably harder from now on... As you finally feel your spine and ribcage stops growing at about 19 feet long, your neck suddenly grows wider as ribs form inside it, catching you unawares. Before you can react, your head is fused forward. you also find your shoulders have vanished, locking your arms at your sides. What next?
A strange sensation suddenly runs down the entire length of your body like two lines, connecting your arms and your legs. With your head fused forwards, you find yourself unable to observe any physical changes. Gathering your strength, you drag your body over to the mirror, where you discover the truth of the transformation. Along the entire length of your body, long thin limbs, identical to your arms and legs, are emerging from your flesh, quickly growing to a length of approximately 10 meters. Suddenly, your body started dividing into segments.
Realizing what this means, you try lifting your body off the ground, and find yourself pleasantly surprised when your torso lifts up with ease. Wow, it would appear things are much easier when you have more limbs; many, many more limbs... Glancing down, you notice your shirt hasn’t fared well, several of your pairs of limbs have ripped through your shirt, leaving a line of holes down both sides. If you thought you’d had your fair share of odd sensations for the day, you was about to be taken aback, as all the bones across your body begin shifting, moving to the surface of your skin. It’s one of those feelings that just make you squirm in your own skin.
As your ribs reach the surface, they flatten out into cylindrical plates, creating an exoskeleton which also acts as a nice layer of armor. your skin and clothes have already evaporated. you finally realize the meaning of the pattern on the ring, as the top of your new exoskeleton dyes dark brownish-red while your underbelly turns a light cream color. Your many limbs experience exactly the same fate as your torso, as the bones in them expand outwards and become hollow, allowing a long tendon to reach the full length of each limb as a small muscle forms at the base of each. As the bone reaches the surface, skin evaporating in the process, the bone turns dark muddy-red, identical in color to your back.
As the transformation rounds to a close, you feel your nose pushing out; dragging your upper lip midway and pushing your eyes to the side of your face; until your face is round and smooth. Your lips peel back to reveal your teeth fusing together into multiple larger tooth-like protrusions. As your hair recedes back into your dark red scalp, a pair of pincers emerges from either side of your jaw, curving round in front of you so they touch, a spike pushing out of the tip of both. This is quickly followed by another, larger pair of pincers form around the outside edge of the first pair. Small venom glands form in these larger pincers; something you discover when you clench the muscle in them, causing them to snap together with force, secreting a small amount of venom from the tip of the pincers in the process. This second pair of pincers is a lot more heavy duty than the first; probably for fighting or crushing, and you guess the smaller set would be used for eating and pushing food into your mouth...
Your nostrils shrink as your nose sinks into your smooth face, until nothing visible is left.
After the transformation, your mind was faced with two decisions: either escape from here and hide in the forest or wait for someone to come in and help.
