You recall and think back, you loved your parents, but the rumors were that they had been cursed to become classical werewolves by the curse of a witch who had cursed them for her own selfish reasons.
Your father had been a archer who previously had some strong wind magic skills he had learned over his life. But as his mind was filled with the beast, he had to take on the task himself to save his family from the curse by any means possibly.
He tried to fight the witch and tried to remove the curse, but failed miserably. He ended up getting killed instead of turning into a monster. And because of this, Your mother became the last remaining member of the family, and she vowed to protect everyone around her until the end of time. She swore to keep watch over those people whom she knew would get harmed if anything should happen.
As the years passed, you grew older, and more curious than most. It wasn't long after your parent's death where you realized there must've been an explanation for everything, maybe you could find out the truth for why she hid herself every full moon, and why travelers said there was remorseful whimpering. But now on your 18th birthday.. your own mark was beginning to awaken.
It felt different, warm and fuzzy feeling against your skin, you touched it gently, wondering what exactly this new sensation meant. Was it just going to disappear again? Or was something finally happening...?
The next morning, you awoke early, and made breakfast for yourself before heading off towards the forest. You thought nothing of the mark, but rumors abounded that it would be a sign for trouble. So many people warned you not to go near the woods during a full moon. If the witches were real, wouldn't them showing themselves to you be a golden opportunity for you to avenge your father, and free the curse?
But you decided to ignore the warnings, because no matter what happened, you still believed in your heart. Maybe the witch was real, but your heart was stronger. There was nothing that could you!
When you arrived at the edge of the forest, you noticed several things right away:
- A large wolf paced through the trees.
- Their pack laid nearby.
And yet despite all of this, the forest itself looked peaceful enough. Not even the birds or animals moved, as though they were afraid of whatever was making the earth tremble beneath their feet. As you watched the wolves pace through the shadows of the trees, you found yourself becoming nervous, unsure whether to turn and run home.
"What are we waiting for?" You asked aloud, trying to ease your nerves. "Let's go!" You shouted, running forward towards the forest. The moment you stepped foot inside the trees however, you felt a sudden rush of air behind you. Turning around quickly, you saw the largest wolf standing in front of you, looking down at you with its yellow glowing eyes.
"Hello," you called back nervously, trying to remain calm.
"Hmmp.. Small human. Weak. Frail. Arrogantly naive" The wolf replied, baring his sharp teeth and smiling.
You stood there frozen, staring up at him. This creature seemed much larger than the other wolves you had seen, perhaps twice as tall. His fur glowed brightly under the light of the sun, and his body was covered in thick black hair. Even his face was beautiful, his nose was pointed, and his lips curled slightly upwards. He reminded you of a predator, the kind that hunted human prey for sport.
