Suddenly inspiration struck Jay. For a moment he hesitated, as it would require him to undo and change some of the things he had just established, but ultimately decided to do it anyway. If he didn’t like it, he could just change it back later. Jay put his hand on the crytsal ball and willed the world to change again.
While fantasy was his favorite genre, his second-favorite was mecha, so why not combine these two? Magic was of course prevalent in his anime world, but technology was very highly advanced too, having reached the point where it could subtly integrate itself into the fantasy setting without being noticable. Nowhere else was this more obvious than in the fact that everyone in this new world was a mecha pilot.
These mechas came in all sizes, colors and shapes, being used both for fighting and more mundane matters, with their abilities being partially decided by the race of the pilot. By the time someone finished magic school, which also teaches its students how to control mechas now too, they’d be given their very own mecha to pilot. Assuming they hadn’t already inherited, found, been chosen by, etc., their own mecha. It was an anime world after all.
He already heavily skewed the gender ratio in favor of females, so why not go all the way? The whole world consisted now only of female mecha pilots. To really sell the aesthetic, they were all permanently wearing skin-tight plugsuits. In fact, everyone’s born already wearing one. Of course they grew alongside their wearers.
This left only one thing, a necessary conflict. Jay liked his peaceful world and it should stay that way. Instead all threats came from outside. Evil interplanetary alien empires, transdimensional monsters that only knew destruction, robotic hiveminds that wanted to assimilate the whole universe. All the races of this planet had joined together in an united effort to protect its peace and Jay loved that.
Jay surveyed his room again. Surprisingly enough it had barely changed aside from the return of a proper light switch with lamp. Most of the interior decorations just generally looked cleaner and slightly more angular. His closet had become much emptier though, now only mostly containing costumes, small accessories and regal uniform pieces obviously for special occasions. Made sense for a world where everyone was permanently wearing full-body suits. Speaking of, his anime collection remained mostly unchanged aside from the addition of plugsuits to each of them, the maid girl in particular obviously wearing her dress over one. The witch schoolgirl outfits had been slightly modified to now include features from cadet uniforms, being now more cloaks or capes to wear over the plugsuit.
Chancing another look outside, Jay found a similar view to before. The big difference being the clothes everyone wore, even the fairies wore small ones, and that the orcs now used their own mechas to do the deliveries. In the distance he could also spot a couple different mechas through the sky.
Jay went back to the Chronivac. It had gone from a crystal ball to a small marble, which projected its screen into the air via hologram technology once he got near. There was still one change Jay had yet left to do, which he had intentionally saved for the end. Jay had intentionally excluded himself from any of the last changes. He was still a guy with the same white fabric shirt. It was time to change that. He wanted to enjoy this new world as thoroughly as possible and that meant also becoming a female suited mecha pilot. He just had to decide what race he wanted to be. Also, if he wanted to jump straight into adult pilothood, go to magic pilot school or completely start from scratch. Or maybe Jay should just leave it completely up to chance?
