"Shit." Emily whispered. Rick glanced up at her, trying to tell her not to open the door, but she shook her head. "Reality's changed remember Rick?" She whispered. "I don't want child services barging in and taking you if it looks like I'm freaking kidnapping you." She argued, before opening the door.
There on the other side was none other than Rick's mother, Candice! Candice was a short, slightly chubby woman. Her curly red hair was graying slightly, while her large breasts were somehow no longer sagging. In fact, as Emily stared at her, she realized that she looked at least a few years younger. Less wrinkles, tanner skin, and a better fashion sense. Once Candice saw Rick, her eyes lit up.
"Oh, there's my widdle baby girl!" She squealed, quickly snatching Rick from Emily.
Rick felt helpless as he could only stare at his mother while she scooped him up. She looked like a giant, towering over him, and before he knew it she was squishing her face into hers. He remembered how much his mother loved babys, and the thought of being treated like that at all was sickening... made worse by the fact that he was technically a she.
"Thanks so much for watching her Emily." Candice sighed. "How was she? I hope my little happy accident wasn't too fussy?" She laughed.
Rick's eyes went wide. Accident?! Was he an accident in this reality? Was he an accident normally? When he was back to normal, he'd definitely have a few questions for his mother. Emily, meanwhile, was panicking. Now that Rick was being held so close to his mother, there was no way to try and change him back without also changing her.
"Uh, she was... fine." Emily muttered, trying to play it cool for now. "Um..."
"Oh, that's right, your money." Candice chuckled, shifting Rick to be held by one arm only. She gently fixed the little hairband before walking into the apartment. "I'm such a scatterbrain lately."
She quickly placed her large bag on the counter then pulled out some money.
"I'll be out of your hair. It's getting close to lunch time and I left Rebecca's bottle at home." She explained before she turned to leave.
It was clear that Candice was in a rush. Emily began to panic. If Candice left, then she'd have to wait who knows how long before turning Rick back. Rick knew this too, and was glaring at Emily, trying his best to mentally tell her to do something, anything! He did NOT want to spend god knows how long in the life of a baby girl.
"Uh, um... wait! Wait, Mrs. Smith..." Emily stuttered, causing her to turn back towards her.
Candice then spotted the camera, and that's when...
