Jim ran under the large bed, which was like a huge, covered platform to him now. He ran all the way to the back side of the bed, once the gigantic bedroom door opened. Much to his relief, a friendly voice spoke out the moment the bedroom door closed.
“Jim? Hey JIM?” the familiar voice called out. It was Cody, his gamer pal from school who he also knew as his teammate on the school’s soccer team.
“CODY! I’m OVER HERE!” Jim shouted as he ran towards the edge of the bed, so Cody could see him. “DOWN HERE!”
The giant teen looked down and spotted the tiny boy, who was as big as an action figure.
“WHOA! What the hell happened to you?” Cody gasped, as he squatted down by the pile of clothes on the floor, the balloon, and the very small figure of his friend, who ran over to him.
“JUST BLOW UP THE BALLOON FOR ME!” Jim shouted.
“The balloon? Oh, okay…” Cody shrugged as he picked up the balloon from the floor and placed the spout between his lips. As soon as he filled the balloon with a burst of air, which caused it to fill up, Jim started to grow bigger and taller at the same time.
“OH! JIM! YOU’RE GROWING!” Cody smiled as he held the balloon between his fingers. But the excitement caused him to let go, and the balloon deflated, making Jim shrink back again!
“NOOOO! CODY! BLOW IT UP ALL THE WAY!” Jim shouted. He was back to 6 inches tall again. “BLOW IT UNTIL I’M MY OLD SIZE AGAIN!”
“Oh, sorry dude!” Cody giggled as he tried to blow in the balloon for a second time.
This time, Cody looked on in utter amazement as his best friend grew with every breath that he blew into the balloon. Finally, after five big gulps of air, Jim was about as tall as him.
“Now, what do I do?” Cody asked him.
“Say the word ‘Release’ while you hold the spout of the balloon!” Jim instructed.
“Release!” Cody spoke, before letting the air out of the balloon. This time, Jim remained at his original size, much to his great relief.
“How did you do that?” Cody asked him.
“You can make the balloon control your own size, or the size of other things or people! It’s like magic!” Jim explained as Cody handed him the deflated balloon.
“Oh, dude! My dad has an electrical air pump in our garage. We should hook it up to that!” Cody suggested. “We can have FUN with that!”
“Ohhhh, let’s try it out!” Jim grinned.
The two left the house and went to Cody’s house, which was right next door. They snuck into the garage, where they found the large air pump. It had a pressure meter and regulator, it had a timer, and it was fully programmable.
