"Rapido niñas!" Raquel called out. "We have a few more stops to do."
"Yes Mamá." Teresa replied slightly sarcastically. She gave an eye roll once she saw her mother wasn't looking. She liked shopping, but would rather do it with friends or her boyfriend, not her mom and little sister. "Let's go twerp." Teresa called behind her towards her sister.
To her surprise, Juanita was a little farther behind than she expected. She could see her messy mop of hair poking underneath a bench as she was on her knees, looking underneath.
"Ew, Mamá, Juanita's on the floor." Juanita tattled.
Raquel turned to see her adorable young daughter looking underneath the mall fence.
"Juanita! No, get off the floor!" She scolded.
"But Mamá, look!" Juanita called out as she held of an old polaroid camera. "What is this?"
"It's just an old camera." Teresa laughed. "That thing's ancient."
"Ay, it's not that old." Raquel sighed. "You see niña, a long time ago people didn't have things like cameras in their phone, so they had things like this."
"Can we take pictures with it?" Juanita gleefully asked.
"I suppose... but let me see it first." Her mother responded, much to Teresa's surprise.
As Juanita handed over the camera, Raquel took out some wet wipes to clean it up.
"Seriously Mamá?" Teresa scoffed. "You let her get away with everything."
"Cálmate cariña." She laughed. "Nothing wrong with taking pictures." She joked, unaware of who she had been just hours ago and the irony with what she said. "Now, let's see if this works still."
She saw a couple walking by, consisting of a skinny boy and a a slightly heavy girl. The blonde boy was clearly nervous as hell, while the girl seemed to be enjoying herself despite her date's worries. Raquel thought it was cute, so she raised the camera and took a quick picture.
*FLASH*
She lowered the camera, and watched as the photo popped out of the camera. After a few moments, it cleared up and showed a very crisp photograph of those two. The skinny blonde girl was mid way through flipping her hair, and her little pug was trying it's best to keep pace with his master.
"Not the loveliest test subject." Raquel thought. "Why'd I even take a picture of that bitchy looking girl?" She wondered before shrugging it off.
"See, that's how it's done back in my day." She smiled.
"Wow, it makes a real pick-er! Like the pick-er in our house?" Juanita asked, clearly amazed.
"It's picture, twerp, and yes it makes pictures pop out wow soooo cool." Teresa scoffed. Secretly, however, she was a little interested. She could probably take a few good shots of her with that.
"It is cool!" Juanita laughed, completely missing her sister's sarcasm.
Raquel glared at Teresa. She was getting sick of her daughter's rebellious phase. She missed when she was her little princess. Now she was more like a tyrant. Raquel dreaded how'd she be in college.
"I know, how about I take a picture of you two, wouldn't that be cute?" She asked.
"Mommm." Teresa groaned.
"Yes yes!" Juanita called out. She then ran up to her sister and hugged her. Teresa rolled her eyes but accepted the hug, trying not to smirk.
"Okay good, say cheese!" Raquel called out.
