A stampede running away from a water fountain. Dylan and Wrench bore witness to one of the craziest sights they would ever see. A normal human with a giraffe length neck, a turtle with fuzzy ears and a tail, a hedgehog with webbed hand and feet, all sorts of crazy mutations. Everyone was panicking, Wrench got Dylan’s attention as he tried to guide him along, saying, “We have to find the others.” So he follows Wrench through the panicked and mutating students and teachers as they go to their normal spot. Of course, Sledge is there, looking so proud of himself, along with Princess, Bounce, and Jolt, all waiting for the culprit to join the crew officially. Everyone surrounded him as Jolt made sure the coast was clear.
“You crazy son of a bitch! That was awesome!” Sledge roared, slapping Dylan on his back.
“You’re not hurt, are ya Dyl? Did anyone see you?” Bounce said, hugging him tight, tears in her eyes.
“These are quite the fascinating results for the TF429, I’ll document these and then I should be able to retrieve it remotely.” Said Princess, with a lab coat and thick glasses on. She had a mad scientist vibe going on despite normally being a bubbly smart girl. Jolt and Wrench had a few words for each other, Jolt being surprised at Wrench’s retelling of the previous events. Now all the group had to do was wait for the chaos to die down, return to a normal school day, and meet back up after to official christen Dylan with his new nickname.
Just before the school day ends, Princess stops Dylan and pulls him aside. They talk in hushed tones so as not to arouse anyone’s suspicion.
P-“There’s been a problem, I need you to retrieve the device.”
D-“What? Are you serious?”
P-“The remote retrieval function isn’t working for some reason, I need you to find the device before anyone else does.”
D-“I nearly got busted putting the thing there, how am I supposed to track it down throughout the school and find it.”
P-“Please Dylan, I don’t want to get in trouble for this. I’ll make it up to you, I promise.” She said that with fluttering, puppy-dog eyes.
D-“Fine, but if I get caught, I’m taking you down with me.” He said in a huff.
She gave him a locator with a map of the school water system overlayed on the beacon. The device had moved alright, it was in a outside pipe not far from their hangout spot. He would have to be quick to avoid being seen.
