Jane was out exploring the woods near her house all alone, walking around her families’ cabin near a river and enjoying herself. The summer sun shining down made the ten-year-old really thirsty, which made her go for a drink of the river’s water. Warnings of not drinking the water played around her head, but nothing ever happened when she did, so she always ignored them.
She cupped her small hands and brought them into the river to catch some of the much-needed liquid. Coldness spread through her hand and the water was clear when she brought it to her face, perfect! After some servings a new, sweet aftertaste appeared in her mouth, but it was so weak that she put the blame on the candy she ate earlier.
