While everyone was dealing with the extreme heat wave, they also kept in mind that Father's Day was right around the corner. There wasn't likely to be much outdoor activity, but plenty of ways of honoring Animalia's fathers.
There was one particular place that was going to get a lot of paternal attention. Living with a reverse-harem made up of her uplifted cats, it was only a matter of time before Eleanor Kathleen, AKA Miss Kitty, would get knocked up. It was her routine maintenance of birth control that had kept her from having kittens years ago. Of course, the quarantine eventually pushed her beyond her limits.
Now that she was the matriarch of a larger family, she needed a proper residence to house them all. She moved out of the home she had shared with her five mates to a bigger house. She was still searching for full-time nannies to help her raise her kittens, as well as potentially take the edge off her mates' friskiness. Now that she was a mother, Miss Kitty was trying to develop more self-control around her toms. It could get rather awkward if one of her kittens stumbled across their mother in a compromising position with one of their fathers. Anyways, Miss Kitty didn't want another litter, especially after the big one she had only a month ago.
==========
When Miss Kitty first showed signs of pregnancy, she started getting things ready for her little bundle of joy. Over time, it became obvious that this bundle was a package set. She came to expect twins, then triplets, then quadruplets. Her toms ended up having to do more and more work for her as she swelled up with her growing litter. She assumed she was now carrying a kitten from each of her cats. She was starting to feel like that anglerfish who ended up having far more kids than shi expected. Miss Kitty just hoped she'd be able to work off all the accumulated mass after her litter was born.
The day of the birthing was quite a long one, as could be expected. Miss Kitty was having the largest litter for any mammalian Animalian so far. She was kept numb for most of the day, only vaguely recalling the pushing for each kitten. It all blurred together and didn't become clear until near midnight.
"Are you doing well, Eleanor?" asked her doctor.
"I feel...lighter. For the most part," said Eleanor. Her breasts could probably compete with cow Animalians at their current size. "So, how are my babies?"
"They're doing very well," said the doctor, "Three boys and three girls, all healthy."
"Six kittens?" asked Eleanor in shock.
"Is that a problem?" asked the doctor.
"I was expecting five," said Eleanor, "I thought each of my cats only fathered one. I wonder who got the extra kitten?"
"We can run DNA tests later," said the doctor, "But right now, you need rest."
"I certainly do," said Eleanor. Six kittens was going to be quite a handful to raise. She'll have to be careful not to add any more until she was ready. Perhaps it was time to get an IUD. Of course, that will have to wait until she recovered her strength.
