"Hey Thor. Do you got a minute?"
"Aziza!" screamed the god of thunder merrily, hugging his female companion at first sight, briefly lifting her slender body off the ground with his burly muscles in a warm embrace. Aziza giggled.
Few mortals had ever been lucky enough to step foot in Asgard that weren't einherjar, warriors who had died in battle and sent to Valhalla. Even fewer had the temerity to approach Thor, the god of thunder, in the dining hall in the heart of Odin's palace, and even fewer than that had dared approach Thor as an equal. The Sorceress Supreme was one of those people.
Of all the numerous pagan gods and goddesses that Aziza had met over the last few years, Thor was one of her favorites. He was a good drinking buddy. He was funny too, and he would give you the shirt off of his back, which explained his centuries long popularity. Surprisingly, he was also pretty wise for what amounted to an overgrown frat boy.
Actually, Aziza liked most of the Norse gods. She was also friends with Heimdall and Sif. Even Odin, by comparison, was much less of a douche than his Greek counterpart Zeus, who had once unsuccessfully tried to seduce Aziza in the form of a sexy woman.
"So how is the fair maiden Kylie doing?" Thor asked his companion as he ate one of his goats, Toothgnasher, whom he would later resurrect with his hammer.
"Not well, I'm afraid. She's beginning to find out who she really is."
"Ah, so now the picture comes into focus. You came here to ask me for advice."
"Yep" Aziza answered laconically because she was tired.
Aziza yawned. It had been an exhausting week trying and failing to cheer Kylie up. Her girlfriend being a Debbie Downer all week, had brought her own spirits down as well.
"I've seen the future, Thor. In every possible iteration of events where Kylie regains her memories, she goes insane. More often than not, she turns evil and destroys the world, sometimes the entire universe, with her powers. Nobody can stop her. Not me and Regina working together, or anyone else. She runs roughshod on everyone. Even gods and aliens can't stop her. In other timelines, she kills herself, either because she can't handle being who she is, or just before she does something horrible. But she's never happy, and that breaks my heart. I just want her to have a nice life."
Thor drank from a large goblet of mead.
"You know that Loki is destined to kill my half brother Baldur and set Ragnarok in motion, right?"
"Naturally."
"The Norns long ago spun their rich tapestry."
"Yes, I've read the Eddas. The Neil Gaiman version, anyway."
"Fate has already been decided. No matter what happens, Loki will be the doom of all of Asgard."
"Yes?"
"So you're asking my advice for Kylie, sorceress? My advice is to love her. If there is nothing you can do to stop her spiral into madness, just try to enjoy the good times you've got left with her."
"Or..." Thor added casually, "...get her into therapy."
Aziza pondered what Thor said, wondering if there was anyone who was equipped to deal with the severity of Kylie's trauma. Someone who'd understand just how fucked up she really was, because a normal therapist probably wouldn't be able to help.
*Sigh*
"Do you remember that time when I beat you in a drinking contest, Thor?"
"Aye, who could forget? I was the laughingstock of all of Asgard for weeks."
"Want to try and reclaim your record?"
"Oh, it's on, sorceress."
