You flinched and went as far to your side of the loveseat as you could when she sat down next to you afraid she was going to be mad at you. She reached out and gently caressed your face. “I’m not mad at you. It’s not your fault my sister deceived you.” Josephine said as she patted the top of your head which helped to calm you. “I’m more mad at my sister for telling an outsider our secret.” she said glaring at Emily who was still in the corner clutching her clothes to her clearly afraid of her sister.
Josephine sighed “well what’s done is done. We need to do something about the situation.”
“W-what do you mean? I won’t tell anyone if that’s what you're worried about.” you said your voice finally finding you. You were still scared of the older girl but you were starting to let your guard down a little bit.
Josephine shook her head. “I wish it were that simple. Shapeshifters have rules and one of them is if someone finds out there are certain things that have to happen.”
“L-like what? What are you going to do to me?” you asked clearly afraid again.
“Well you got some options. I’ll let you choose since it’s really my sister's fault.” she said, shooting daggers at the small girl who let out a tiny whimper. “We have these collars that you can wear and it will make you unable to talk about shapeshifters and make you a servant for the rest of your life. It’s not as bad as it sounds. We’ll treat you with dignity and respect but it will make it so you couldn’t deny a request from whoever your master ends up being unless they allow it. Another option is you can press charges with the shapeshifter court against my sister but then your fate is in their hands and since she is so young you would probably be made a slave or worse they could put you in jail for a time if you get a judge who hates humans and wanted to be an asshole. Marriage is an option though i don’t know you that well and my sister is still young so you would still have to be a slave for a time…” she trailed off and looked at you.
Your head was spinning, it was a lot to take in. “So those are my only options then hmm…”
“N-not quite but the others are extreme and we would need to get our parents involved to talk it over with them first… if they agree though you could let them rewrite your memories and inject you with a serum that will change you basically into our sibling. You would forget everything of your old life and be a part of shapeshifter society… the last option is very extreme… you can agree to have sex with me or my sister and be changed into one of our egg cells and be reborn as our child. You would be a shapeshifter after being born and you would still lose your memory but i’m agreeable to it.”
“M-me too.” Emily said almost too enthusiastically her voice finally finding her.
The room went quiet for a very long time as you considered the options.
