Jake's craft enters the atmoscarge violently shaking from second-hand motion dampers as Jake looked for a spot to land their scouting ship that was screaming a warning at him with every passing minute.
He eventually finds what looks to be a clearing, where an old landing pad made from stones and sand. He lands barely in time as 5 feet off the ground the main power stops, dropping the spacecraft to the ground. Scaring the crap out of the independent contractor for a few minutes before he got out of the cockpit to see what was the damage.
Some of the Jarry riggings finally gave way to the power core, meaning bringing out the solar 3d printer and the drop added another crack to the fuel tanks to the point where you have to print that too. At least the portable fuel converter is intact. Being that you are in the woods there has to be a lake or some kind of groundwater to use to make hydrogen. Overall he’s looking for at least a week or two of repairs.
The woods are an odd mix of greens purples and blues, Jake can hear bird-like life forms in the far off trees. There's a small trail to the north leading up to what looks to be a small grouping of abandoned glass and plastic buildings. To the south there see a steel signpost which after cleaning off layers of lime green moist with oddly violet flowers on them point two different ways one to what looks to be a lake and the other way a small town/outpost or at least what he assumes as the sign has corroded a fair bit.
