Transform or Dare?

Screen On-Screen

added by TransforMarv A year ago BM I O Robot

Having been literally charged up, Jen began to feel restless. She wanted to do something, anything with her new powers. She picked up her tablet PC again. Without its charging port, which Jen definitely wouldn't give back any time soon, its usability was essentially over, so why not recycle some more from it? But which parts and how?

She walked over to the mirror to look at herself and hopefully brainstorm some ideas. Hmm… she always thought her face looked a bit bland. Maybe she could replace it with something that was capable of 1080p and HD?

Carefully she placed her hands on the sides of her face, her fingers actually finding purchase, and successfully pulled her face off. Facelessness was hard to describe. She could still “see” in a way and was aware of everything around her. There was also no need to breathe due to the lack of mouth or nose. In her hands was her human face in the form of some kind of round mask. With one hand she felt her head, a perfectly flat expanse of skin was now her front. That curse sure was something.

Now it was time for the tablet. Thanks to the curse she could pull off its screen like a sticker. Then, like a sticker, she pushed it on the empty space of her head. Jen could feel the shape of the screen shift slightly to conform to the shape of her head. Everything from her forehead to her chin was covered by a screen.

Jen wanted to see how it looked, only to realize she still couldn't actually see. To remedy that she pulled out the tablet’s front and back cameras and placed them on her forehead, right between her hairline and the edge of her screen. Vision returned to Jen much cleaner and more detailed than ever before. Now she’d never need to worry about ever needing glasses. Or binoculars, as she found herself able to zoom in on her view.

Now being able to appreciate her new look, she decided to check it out finally. Well… what did she expect, it was a flat screen in place of her face. It took a moment to get a hang of it, but soon she learned how to project whatever she was thinking of onto her screen, be it texts, pictures, memories or a semi-decent replica of her old face.

Jen now could change her face into whatever she wanted, copies of celebrities, cartoon parodies or anime ahegaos. She might even switch it up daily. Though to go with the occasion, at the moment she settled on a classic. A completely black background with two green bits as eyes and a straight line for a mouth.

“––––––”

Okay… her mouth line was moving, but no sounds were coming out. Oh, right, a picture doesn't constitute a mouth. She pulled the small speaker holes off, again like a sticker, and placed them right under her chin.

“TEST, Test, OnE, TWo, thRee, there we go.” An almost perfect recreation of her former voice, though she enjoyed the slight robotic undertone.

“This is so cool. The old human body is overrated anyways. What else could I use to improve it?”
