Lucy started yelling at me: "You! How dare do this my John! That was your secret plan, huh? To secretly get him away from me and then change him?". She was really angry. John tried to explain her: "Hey, it's not like she forced me to do it or something. It was I who asked Celia if she wants to change me, because I felt bad after hearing she's the only skunk in the forest." She then shouted: "So you are a traitor! You're not getting away with that!". Then she rushed at John, wagging her heavy aligator tail, trying to hit him with it. "Lucy, stop!" I said loudly, while lifting my tail slightly. I looked at John, whose tail also started to raise. "Make me!" Lucy answered with pure fury in her voice. I turned to face John, and he did the same. We stared at our eyes for a moment and then I nodded my head. We dodged a few tail wags, and then he asked me quietly "How?". He was almost whispering. "Follow your instincts!" I answered, keeping the same voice tone as him. Then we both turned around to make our butts face the mad Lucy. Our tails finished raising up, almost in unison. I was a little worried because John probably had no idea how to spray in defense, or even how to extend his sprayers. You can only imagine how relieved I felt when I made my own sprayers slide out, and saw that John looked at my butt and quickly followed up. I let out a sigh in relief, and started to aim my spray nozzles. I wanted to hit Lucy in the face to distract her, but I had to avoid her eyes - she was my friend after all, and I didn’t want to hurt her in the slightest. I then tensed the muscles around my scent glands, releasing a twin stream of my musk at Lucy's cheeks. Then I looked at John. He figured out how, and also sprayed a stream of the stinky oil on Lucy's face. He also missed her eyes, either on purpose or just because he didn’t know how to aim. After our spray splashed at our angry friend, she stopped dead in her tracks. The nasty smell made her cough and gag. We still stood with our butts facing her, as if she did not decide to stop her offense.
After a few minutes, Lucy managed to tell us "Wow guys, I'm sorry, I totally overreacted." Then she coughed on the stink again. I responded "It's okay Lucy, it's not like we're angry or something." Then John added "Yeah, we were just defending ourselves, you attacked us after all." Lucy looked like she really felt bad with what she just did. "I'm sorry Celia, I just got angry that you turned John into a skunk, because I wanted him for myself. I acted really greedy, I shouldn't have, he was yours in the first place after all... Besides, you're the only skunk in the forest, and he seems to like you. You deserve him." She said with an apologizing tone. I looked her in the eyes, smiled and said "It's okay, Lucy. I understand you. I will even help you clean up that stinky mess on your face. We're friends, after all, aren't we?" This cheered Lucy up a lot. She smiled and answered "Thank you so much Celia. You are the best friend I've ever had. And you, John, I'm sorry for trying to force-transform you. I should have let you choose." John also smiled at her and said "Hey, it's okay, I'm not angry. You treated me very nice when you at first saved me from Celia being not quite reasonable when we first met." I then quickly realised I didn’t apologize him for what I did to him before! I quickly told him "Oh my God, John, I'm so sorry for spraying you back then. It was just because-" Then he interrupted me, saying "Shh, I know, you didn’t want to be alone anymore. I understand, and as I said before, I forgive you." Then we hugged. I loved this boy.
After all that, we headed back to the place where we came from - the log. Lucy went inside to get a little cleaner, while John and I met another person - none other than the squirrel girl I sprayed before. When she approached me, she started apologizing for her behavior from before. "Hi skunkgirl. I know that you are probably still angry, but I just wanted to say sorry for trying to take your boy from you before. And for laughing at you. " I could see the shame on her face being true, so I told her "Hey, it's okay. I'm not angry. Just, behave well, and we can even become friends!" She smiled and said "Really? That's so nice of you! I will be good for sure. Sorry again for underestimating you." I smiled back and told her "Well, I had a situation where I had to spray my aligator friend as well, so, if you want to, I can help you both clean up." I have no words to describe how happy she looked after hearing that. "Oh my God, you are so kind, that's unbelievable! My name is Roxy, by the way." she said. "Celia. This is John." I introduced us. "Hi John!" she cheered. "Hi Roxy!" he said, also with a smile. Then we went to the log, to clean Roxy and Lucy up.
Some time after that...
