"Amber, if you don't get dressed we're never going to get this done!" Clyde calls out to his wife, though he knows she'll take her own sweet time. Married for about thirteen years, they had both realized that they weren't right for each other, but they've never talked about it and both are resigned to a long life of mutual resentment. Today they're planning on taking the day off and visiting Amber's stupid sister, but not if Amber takes forever to get dressed. Clyde calls out to Amber again with no response. She no longer listens to a word he says.
Clyde frowns and wonders if he should go in and see what on earth is the holdup when all of a sudden he notices faint and repeating sounds of thunder. But it's not like normal, rolling thunder: these sounds start and stop suddenly. And if Clyde's not mistaken, they're only getting louder. So he spends a few moments trying to shake the thought, but eventually he notices glass objects in the living room start to shake. Eventually curiosity gets the better of him and he decides to go outside and see what's going on.
The sight he sees horrifies him. Walking down the street, directly towards him, is his wife's uptight, annoying friend Mary Lynn. He's seen her a thousand times before, but this time she's dressed only in her bra and panties, she's still miles away ... and she's huge. Worst of all, even from this distance Clyde can see a look of determined confidence in Mary Lynn's eyes that he's never seen before. A chill goes down Clyde's spine as he realizes that he's somehow looking at a full-fledged giantess, and it's a woman who he knows and doesn't even like. And she's coming straight for him.
Clyde is too terrified even to move, though his brain keeps telling him to run and hide. The only thing that startles him enough to react is a scream from his left, whereupon he turns to see his wife come out of the house, with a billowing bathrobe that barely covers the lingerie underneath. Amber's scream sounds more like surprise than fear, though. In fact, Clyde looks over at her and sees that she's almost smiling.
Right around then, the giantess Mary Lynn stops, right in front of Clyde and Amber's house. By that point her footsteps are so strong it's almost impossible to remain standing. Clyde and Amber both notice that Mary Lynn is carrying some kind of weird-looking gun.
"AMBER, WALK OUT INTO THE STREET FOR A SECOND." Mary Lynn's voice booms across the town, and Clyde realizes that he's never felt so small, with this giantess staring at him and his wife so intently. Amber still seems less scared than Clyde and scampers down the driveway into the middle of the street, where she waves her arms up in the air at her giantess friend.
"OK AMBER, JUST A SECOND..." Mary Lynn adjusts something on the gun, points it at Amber, and fires. Within seconds, Amber is just as tall as Mary Lynn. From Clyde's perspective, the two women now block out the sun, and as Amber moves to embrace Mary Lynn, Clyde realizes just how dangerous his situation is. With four titanic female feet on the ground, shifting this way and that, he could be crushed at any time and they might never even notice. He starts to sneak inside, hoping he can get out of their sight before either of the two giantesses notice. He does not think either of them will be too kind to him with the new power dynamic.
From Amber's point of view, everything's different. She and Mary Lynn have been best friends for years, sharing everything with each other, from romantic difficulties to thoughts on life to professional advice. When she ran outside to see what was causing that noise, she knew the second she saw Mary Lynn that her friend was coming for her. As Amber looks around at the horizon, miles upon miles away, she feels honored that Mary Lynn trusted her enough to make her a giantess too. They embrace.
Mary Lynn bends down for a second while Amber continues to look around in wonder, amazed at all she can see. Right as it occurs to her that she has the power to do whatever she feels like, she sees her best friend Mary Lynn offering her something in her hand.
