"Let me guess. You asked Shannon to kiss all the old ladies in the retirement home."
Meiko feigned shock and outrage. "How dare you accuse me of that! I said no more than one or two at most. I figured a chain reaction would follow."
"You really are an incorrigible horndog," Brenda laughed.
"Blame my father. And think of it as an act of compassion. All these frail old ladies getting a second shot at youth and beauty."
"And it won't hurt that they'll all be card carrying lesbians," Brenda said. "Did you bother telling Shannon that she's contagious with a strain of lesbi flu?"
"May have slipped my mind. Did you tell my super-hot mom?"
"She's still sleeping it off."
"Should be a fun afternoon for both of us. Would you do it again?"
"Do what again? What are you talking about?"
"Change Mom like you did. I get the impression that she was pretty awful before."
"In honesty, yeah. Awful inside and out." Brenda drew a deep breath. "Much of it was probably my fault. But if you're asking me if I have any regrets, I'd have to say no. We were both miserable. Since we changed…I think I might be in love with her again."
Meiko beamed in that sappy way that only sentimental teenaged girls can. "That's so sweet. So do you think you'd have objections if I asked you to change other people's appearances?"
"Would it matter if I did? You can just order me to make whatever changes you want," Brenda said.
"It would matter to me. I know I'm suppose to support body positivity and being happy in your own skin, but I look at Mom and think…damn!"
Brenda's remaining fatherly instincts kicked in. "Mei! You're a beautiful young woman. Don't feel you have to conform to my former male fantasy."
"Maybe not forever. But wouldn't you want to try out new looks if you could? To feel what huge boobs like Mom's would feel like. To be the sexiest woman in the city? To have straight actresses and models questioning their sexuality just from looking at you? Does that make me shallow?"
Brenda thought about it. "Probably. But it also makes you very human. Would all that really make you happy?"
Meiko shrugged. "Kinda? Not in an ultimate existential way, but rather in a 'never be insecure about my looks' kind of way."
"Hold that thought," Brenda said, getting up. Something from an earlier command clicked in her head. "I'm going to go check on Tiffani."
The click of the lock on the he office door revealed to Meiko that Brenda had lied. "What are you doing in there?" she yelled, pounding on the door.
