Troy was laying on the floor, staring at the open front door while he pondered what to do about this when a familiar smell hit his nose – RK! He remembered that smell from when he was a tiger, and with his new sense of smell he could tell that RK was nearby.
Troy didn’t have to wait long before he saw RK and an unfamiliar women turn into his walkway and take advantage of the open front door.
“Well you seem to have gotten yourself into a bit of a situation, haven’t you Troy?” asked RK.
“And look at poor Rusty,” RK said as he made a sweeping gesture towards the taxidermy by the window, “I did warn you that could happen if you didn’t ally with me, didn’t I?”
Troy was so happy to see someone who could fix this! His felt a surge of energy through his body as he jumped to his feet while his tail wagged itself so hard that it might sprain itself.
“Yes, RK! Please fix this!” Troy thought as he made a short half jump with his front legs and let out a happy bark.
Troy was so happy, in fact, that he had missed the subtle undertone of scorn in RK’s voice.
“Let me introduce you to someone,” said RK.
Gesturing towards the woman next to him he said, “Troy this is Lisa, she’s the owner of the Book of Body.”
Making another gesture towards Troy, “Lisa, meet Troy, he was the owner of the Book of Beasts until just now.”
Troy definitely picked up on the tone behind the was as he began to realize that RK may not have come here to save him. Realizing the need to maintain control of the Book of Beasts, Troy darted down and grabbed the Book of Beasts in his mouth before priming his legs to run.
“Don’t do anything stupid,” said the woman as she leaned over and grabbed the book in Troy’s mouth.
He briefly tried to hold onto it, but a glance at the stern look on RK’s face caused him to let go.
“Oh! These are some interesting spells,” said the woman as she opened the Book of Beasts, “and look, there’s a new one!”
“Interesting,” said RK, “did the Book of Body get any new spells as well?”
“Yes, take a look,” said the woman as she opened the Book of Body and showed it to RK.
“You know Troy, I offered you the chance to ally with me. If you had taken me up on my offer, you would still be you right now, instead of a dumb worthless dog.”
“Do you even have an owner? It doesn’t seem like reality changed, so what are you going to do? German Shepards are an expensive breed but you’re still just a stray. Once you run out of food here you’ll end up starving. Maybe I should turn you a taxidermy like your friend? That would be a mercy compared to death don’t you think?”
Troy felt his stomach sink – which was a much different feeling given his new horizontal stature, but an ominous feeling nonetheless.
Troy heard a growling noise and realized that his body was baring its teeth and acting as menacing as it could. While he hasn’t intended to attack them, the idea came into his mind. He wasn’t just a dog, he was a German Shepard – an attack dog. The instincts welling up in his body told him that these were bad people and there was only one thing to do to bad people…
