Rei and Nat had only just made their way out of Rei's house, when one of their neighbors and classmates, Gabby, came by. An African-American girl who liked to dress fashionably, Gabby was not one of their friends and they had come to regard her as their own school bully. She was more of a casual bully, saying something nice first before turning it around and making it cruel.
"Rei, Nat, good to see you two out tonight. Unfortunately, it also happens to be when I wanted a nice quiet walk outside." Gabby said with a smirk.
"Real mature Gabby, you know the more you act like this throughout school, the less people are going to like you." Nat said to her.
"Well my followers, certainly aren't going anywhere. The only followers I don't need around me is you two." Gabby said coldly.
"Whatever, we're going to go visit the Desotos." Rei said as they began to walk past Gabby.
"The Desotos? I've seen them around school. Miles is hot of course, but his sister Miranda is more meh. She acts all shy and what not but tries to had her face, but you know she is just secretly trying to steal all the cute boys away. What a jerk." Gabby said shaking her head as Rei got angry at Gabby for these comments.
"Rei, calm down, don't let her get to you." Nat tried to say patting her friend on the back.
"Oh let her go at me Nat, she is just some bookworm nerd who won't amount to anything." Gabby said as Nat glared at her.
Rei finally lost it and began yelling at Gabby first in her dad's tongue of Russian.
"Kak ty smeyeshʹ! You can make fun of me and my friends all you want, but you just don't want to seem to change, I wish you were Miles and Miranda's mother so you knew how they really felt!" Rei shouted as she inexplicably made a wish.
Rei and Nat watched as Gabby made her way from being 15 into her twenties and then made her way into her 30s losing all of her teenage attributes and gaining a very womanly figure, but then she made her way into her early 40s and she gained a little weight. Eyeglasses also appeared on her face and finally a wedding ring appeared on her left finger.
"Oh my, hello girls, are you two friends of Miles and Miranda? I'm sure you're some of their closest friends." Gabrielle formerly Gabby said to the girls as she led them through the house.
"Let me just check to see what I've got for dinner tonight." Gabrielle said as she looked through the kitchen. Rei and Nat looked around and noticed all the pictures in the house. Miles and Miranda were now of a mixed-race it appeared while their father was of Mexican ancestry, their mother, Gabrielle, was of African-American origin. There were pictures of the two on dates when they were young, their wedding, and finally of Miles and Miranda when they were younger with their mother.
"Wow, our former bully is now a well-to-do mom." Rei quietly said to Nat.
"Yeah, I like this change a lot." Nat replied back quietly.
"Looks like I've got some stuff for a good meal tonight. Miles, Miranda, you've got friends here!" Gabrielle called out to them as Miranda immediately noticed her mother introducing them while Miles didn't hear at first.
"MILES! Deténgase!" Gabrielle shouted to her son as he stopped playing the guitar and noticed them now.
"I'm going to go fix dinner, you all have a little chat and let me know if you're staying for dinner." Gabrielle said as she went back into the house to get her family's dinner started.
