"Let's talk to the squirrel girl while we wait for the animator," John said.
"I hope you aren't suggesting that because she's naked," Carrie said sternly.
"Of course not!" John blushed. "I just thought we could ask her what being painted is like, seeing how she's gone through with some of it. That makes sense, right?"
Carrie rolled her eyes and sighed. "Men. Okay, let's do it. I admit, I'm as curious as you are."
They approached the half-finished squirrel. From her waist down, the girl was a red-furred squirrel, but from the waist up she was a twenty-something human girl with waist-length reddish-brown hair, freckles, and green eyes. John wasn't sure what stood out to him more, her bushy red tail or her perky breasts.
The half-toon waved at John and Carrie. "Hi there! My name's Jenna. Here to get painted?"
"Yeah," said Carrie. "My name's Carrie, and this is my husband John. We're on our honeymoon."
Jenna smiled. "That's wonderful! Congratulations. My wife and I are here to celebrate our first anniversary. That's her in the corner, the cat. Hi, Tina!"
Tina the cat glanced up from her magazine and gave Jenna and her new friends a quick wave.
"We've actually been here a week," Jenna chattered on, "but it took me this long to work up the nerve to get tooned. Tina decided she'd get repainted herself while she's at it. She wants to upgrade from a cat to a cheetah. So, what can I do for you? Any burning questions about ToonWorld?"
"Mostly about the paint studios," John said, struggling to avert his gaze from Jenna's naked boobs, lest Carrie and Tina team up to scratch his wandering eyes out. "What's it like to be painted?"
"Really fun!" Jenna grinned. "At least, it is if you have a tickle fetish like me."
John laughed. "I don't, but my wife does."
Carrie giggled embarrassedly. "John, I thought we agreed that was our little secret."
"First, you look through the studio catalog and choose a design you like," Jenna went on, brushing a lock of reddish-brown hair out of her live-action face. "Once you have something you like, you wait your turn, and then you undress completely and get on the stool. Then Hank the animator gets out his brushes and starts painting you. He's on lunch break right now. As you can see, he starts with the feet and works his way up. boooooy, do those paintbrushes tickle! As if that weren't enough, the feeling of the magic paint transforming you into a toon tickles, too! Fun! Hank's a real artist, so the whole the whole painting process takes about an hour. Of course, it can take up to two hours if you picked a complex design. Tina's new look'll probably take the poor man ages with all those spots she wants."
Carrie grinned. "Sounds like a blast! I'd better check out the catalog and decide what I want before Hank get's back from his break."
