Blaze and the gang had a great time eating and drinking and playing cards. They asked Blaze why he didn't wanna get outta his feral form for a while since no actual humans were around, and he told them the same thing that he'd told the were-crow, that he was only able to change into a complete human or a complete kangaroo. It was a lie, of course, but it gave him a nice excuse to stay in kangaroo form even during his downtime.
"A were-creature that can't stop the change part-way? Never heard of that before," said were-tiger.
"Well, I'm not naturally a were-creature," Blaze explained truthfully. "I was transformed into a were-roo scientifically as part of some sort of medical testing. I don't mind, though. I actually love having big feet and a tail I can stand on like an extra leg. It kinda feels like being a tricycle!"
Blaze didn't tell them that the medical testing was involuntary, the company was looking for him, and he couldn't afford to be recognized. He could tell they suspected he wasn't telling the whole truth and probably had a reason not to, though. He also didn't bother telling them that the lab incident was a reality change he'd created using a genie. He assumed that the genie was none of their business.
"Well, you know human forms are banned for zoo-weres, right?" a anthro otter reminded him. "You're stuck as a roo if you can't go anthro."
"Yeah, that was the rumor," Blaze confirmed, "but that's actually the best part as far as I'm concerned. I'm lovin' the roo life! It'll be cool to come here and hang out like a human once a month, but I never actually wanna be human again. In fact--"
Blaze was interrupted by the sound of the locked door getting pounded open. Someone in a ski mask barged in and covered his eyes, not really expecting the room's brightness. It was the only room in the zoo that had lights on. He stumbled into the room waving a flashlight around. Obviously he had broken into the zoo after hours, looking for something to steal.
After the strange man's eyes adjusted he looked around and noticed he was in a room full of anthros who had a feral kangaroo with them. He stuttered something and stepped backwards. All the were-animals were eyeing him closely.
