Danny sat in his streaming playpen, watching Greg stream the latest hot game. He looked down at his phone. The stream had been going on for three hours, so there were two to go. Of course, he had an easy way to end the stream early. After a few more boring minutes, Danny played his trump card. He got up, bent his knees into a squat, and began to push.
“Sorry guys, looks like we’ll have to end the stream early today,” Greg said to the viewers. “Danny needs a change.” Greg saved the game and said goodbye to the viewers, then turned the stream off. He turned in his chair to look at Danny, still in the process of pooping his diaper. “You got sick of that game, huh?”
“Next…time…” Danny said between grunts, “stream…it…during…my…nap.”
“Nah, it’s okay. I was getting bored of it, too. Not as good as all the hype made it out to be,” Greg said with a shrug. Danny finished pooping and straightened. His diaper sagged under him. “Ready for that change?”
“Yep.” Danny held up his arms to make it easier for Greg to lift him out of the playpen. Greg brought him to the bathroom and laid him down on the marble counter to change him out of his dirty diaper. During the change, Danny thought about the path that had led to this.
The toddler company wanted Danny to act as a social media influencer, sponsored by them, of course. He started off making videos about toddler-related things and vlogs about his life as an adult turned into a toddler. But then his popularity took off. Other companies reached out to Danny to sponsor his content, and only a few months after becoming a social media influencer, Danny had been able to move into a massive mansion. With Greg, who was now his legal guardian.
After losing his job at the store, Danny had become legally a three-year-old, and thus in need of a legal guardian. As Danny’s roommate, Greg was the best option. Danny could do without the name change; Greg insisted Danny, who was white, have his Japanese-American last name of Nakamura. But that was the only real problem Danny had with Greg now being in charge of him.
Now, Greg and Danny worked together to produce content. Saturdays, they posted toddler-related videos, such as Danny reviewing toddler snacks or giving personal tips on how to get a fussy toddler to nap. Sundays, they posted vlogs of their odd lives. And Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, they streamed. Sometimes Greg played video games while Danny sat in a playpen with a separate camera watching him. Sometimes they answered questions. But most frequently, Danny did the same thing that had gotten him into this entire mess: he demonstrated products.
“All done!” Greg said cheerfully. Danny sat up. Sure enough, he was clean and in a fresh diaper.
“Another diaper?” Danny asked.
“We’ve got some filming to do today,” Greg explained. Danny nodded. The diaper was just for show; Danny was still fully potty-trained. But they got more views if Danny was visibly wearing a diaper, so Danny pretended to not be potty-trained on social media. It also gave Danny an easy out of long streams. They streamed for five hours or until Danny needed a diaper change. That day was not the first time Danny purposely used his diaper to end the stream.
“All right, I can wait for my training pants until after we’re done filming,” Danny said. Greg set him down on the floor. “What are we filming today?”
