After some thought, he decided this is faithful husky would be a good first choice. After all, the owner of the store showed the blanket's power off with his own companion. "Axel!" He called aloud. He heard creaks and soft steps nails hitting hardwood floor as his aging husky came over to him. "Good boy." He said as he smiled at his long-time companion. Axel looked expectantly at him as he laid down beside him, placing his weight into Darren's leg affectionately.
In his other hand, Darren rubbed his hand through the fabric of the blanket. The man said that the new being would be a mixture, a combination of the two individuals. Darren was suddenly hesitant if he wanted to be blended completely with his animal friend. The owner had seemed to be nearly the same, not that he knew him well at all though. "I should have asked more questions before buying the dam thing." Darren said aloud, annoyed with his own impulsiveness. "If this new version of me doesn't want to change back... would Axel and I both... cease to exist." A shiver ran down his spine. "That is an unpleasant thought."
"But, wasn't the man and his puppy both completely under the blanket..." He said aloud. "What if Axel and I are not completely covered..." Before he lost his nerves, Darren grasped two edges of the blanket and let it unfold. It was both long and wide, nearly a perfect square in shape. He laid beside his companion and carefully covered himself and his husky. Though, he made sure to keep his head out from under the blanket.
