"Nice, nice to meet you sir," Connor stammered, wiping his sweaty palm on his shirt before extending it to the crimson fairy. Arion smirked, glancing over his daughter and her boyfriend before speaking. "Lets talk."
Connor gulped, nodding as he now followed Sparks father. Gazing at the fairy, Connor couldn't help but be intimidated by Arion. The crimson fairy appeared far more muscular than most fairies he had seen thus far. It also appeared that Arion had been in quite a few battles over the years, Connor noticing several scars along his chest, back, arms, and even his wings. Entering a small study, Arion turned to face the couple, Connor gazing into his piercing amber eyes.
"So you're Jacob's son," Arion stated, the fairy rubbing his chin. "Always liked your father. Actually knew your dads grandfather Malcolm. Great hunter, very intimidating too. I was nervous the first time Nova introduced me to him." Arion now chuckled at the memory, Connor astounded at the connection between his family and Sparks.
"You have nothing to fear Connor," Arion stated. "I have nothing but respect for your family. The Morelands have always treated our family well. I am a bit surprised to find Spark finally settling down. Her mother and I always thought her wild streak would keep her from finding someone. My daughter has a bit of a temper if you hadn't noticed."
Connor now stifled a laugh, Spark frowning slightly as she looked between her father and her boyfriend. "Ha ha dad," she grumbled. "But I do have a serious question for you." Arion now paused in his parental teasing as Spark took a deep breath. "Dad," she interrupted. "Did you know about the Unseelie?"Arion paused, his eyes narrowing as he now looked at his middle child. "Yes I did."
Sparks eyes went wide, shocked to find her father was aware of the fairies mortal enemies. "Why," she exclaimed. "Why would you let them stay here?!"
"Can I ask a quick question," Connor interrupted. Spark and Arion nodded, turning to face Connor. "Whats the issue with you and the Unseelie?"
"Its complicated," Spark sighed. "Its an ancient blood feud spanning eons. In human terms, its like the Bloods and Crips. We're similar but very different and we hate eachother, which is why I want to know why they're here?"
"Things have changed," Arion said softly. "The Unseelie are dying off. Their numbers have been dwindling since the war. Our leaders decided to show compassion to our enemies, let them live amongst us. So far all has worked out."
"Until today," Spark grumbled. "One of them tried to go after my friends."
Arion frowned, Connor noticing the fairies muscles tense at Sparks statement. Taking a deep breath, Arion now looked to Spark and Connor with a forlorn expression. "I'm sorry," he said softly. "We haven't had any issues with the Unseelie since their arrival. Our realm is not visited often so the Unseelie have not had any reasons to give into their more destructive nature."
"We should have wiped them out," Spark growled, Connor surprised by his girlfriends outburst. Arion now sighed, placing a reassuring hand on his daughters shoulder. "We're not Fukushu Spark."
"Who's Fukushu," Connor asked.
"The son of the kitsune God," Spark stated. "He was the general of the kitsune armies. Over the centuries he went by many nicknames. The Dark Samauri, the Angel of Vengeance, and the Death Fox. He didn't just wipe out armies, he wiped out civilizations."
"And he lacked compassion for any he viewed as an enemy," Arion added.
"Cmon dad," Spark scoffed. "I'm not him. Besides, this is the Unseelie were talking about. You know what they were like. How many fairies did we lose when we fought them? They don't deserve mercy."
"Showing compassion for a defeated foe is a show of strength," Arion said softly. "Don't let vengeance consume you Spark. We can forgive but we never forget."
Spark simply grumbled, Arion squeezing his daughter in a tight hug before looking at Connor. "Sparks always been a fighter," he smirked. "She was a hero during the war. Did you know I wanted her to replace me on the war council. She could of been the General of the Army."
"Except I hated the dress code," Spark laughed. "Cmon dad do you really expect me to wear a uniform?" Arion now chuckled, a warm smile spreading across his face as he shook his head no.
"I'll talk with my men," he said. "Make sure the Unseelie understand that the humans are off limits or there will be severe punishment. Just try not to argue with Star about it."
"Wait how did you know about that," Connor exclaimed.
"I didn't," Arion smiled. "But, I know my daughters. Star helped broker the peace and Spark hates the Unseelie. I knew it was only a matter of time before those two started fighting like rabid pixies."
"Fine daddy," Spark groaned. "I'll leave dust head alone."
Arion chuckled, squeezing Spark tightly before tossling the green fairies hair. Despite the grumpy expression on Sparks face, she couldn't help but feel happy to see her father again.
"Its good to have you home," he said. "And I'm glad you found someone Spark, especially if he's a Moreland. Now let's go eat, your mother and Midna have been working hard to prepare a meal for your arrival."
