With Mary on the outside this time, she hoped it would be a more controlled experiment. With her father out of town for the week, she figured now would be the perfect time. She called her friend Lucy that it was her turn.
Lucy was a beautiful 18-year-old like Mary, just with gorgeous red hair. When Lucy arrived, Mary ushered her down to the lab.
"Got your doll?" Mary asked.
"Yup, right here." Lucy pulled a brand new Barbie Doll out of her bag.
"Excellent." Mary had the initial settings already set. "Set your stuff in the chair there and take Barbie out of the box."
Lucy did as instructed.
"Now, enter this chamber with your unboxed Barbie," Mary said, indicating the first chamber in front of them, "and I'll take care of the rest."
Lucy did as intructed and entered the chamber. The doors closed and mary finished setting up the process.
"Ready," she asked.
"Ready," came the muffled voice of her friend.
Mary through the last switch.

Mary walked over to the second chamber and waited for the door to open. Looking inside, she shocked to not see her friend. Surely she should be there, the teleportation was a success. Then she saw movement of the floor. It had worked, but somehow shrunk her friend to doll size.
"Lucy?" she asked tentatively.
"Y-yes?" Lucy stammered.
"Oh good, you're alive. I didn't kill you."
"Why, what happened?" Lucy asked. Then she noticed that everything around her was huge. "Did something go wrong?"
Mary scooped up her friend. Her body was plastic and she had doll hair. She was Barbie size and still clothed. Mary carried her back to the computer and set her on the desk. Then, Mary started scanning through the data. It didn't take long to find the error.
"Looks instead of adding the mass of the doll to you, it compressed your masses together," Mary explained. "Can you take your clothes off, or are those a part of you?"
Lucy pulled her shirt off and handed it to Mary. "Does that answer your question?"
"Yeah." Mary sat back in the chair. "I can try and reverse the process right now, or you can stay this size for a while. Your choice."
