Maria Smith was a normal girl, living in a small apartment in a large city. She didn't have a full time job, at only 22 she was still trying to find her place in the world. She had a nice body, somewhat skinny but with a cute face. Sadly, everything she knew about herself was soon to forever change.
One night she awoke feeling different. She'd slept in, and missed most of the morning. But suddenly she didn't feel tired at all, like she would never have to sleep again.
When she got up she didn't feel normal, she felt her body more but she didn't feel like she was made of skin and muscle. Everything felt like cold hard steel, from her arms to her stomach, it felt like instead of the soft parts she was used to, everything was mechanical.
As she got up she looked in the mirror, and to her shock her entire body was changed. She didn't see her normal tan skin, but instead layers of steel plates. Her entire body was now made up of segmented metal plates, and her face was now just a block of steel meant to look like an idealized version of her head. She didn't know what to do.
