The Magic Shop

The end of Evan Harris

added by O A year ago BM O Magic Robot Ghost

Evan roared, the dark wizard now releasing a series of magical blasts directly at Legion. A sinister smirk cracking across his face as he looked to finally end this new Catalyst.

Instead of striking the merged teen, Evan watched as the blasts impacted six inches from Legion. Evan scowled, noticing the barrier that appeared to be shielding the teen from damage. "Cute trick," he grumbled. "Yuriko teach you that?"

"In essence yes," Legion responded. "However, I have modified it to synch with my current operating systems. My shields are powered by the sub processing units integrated into my operating systems. Think of this as, techno magic."

"Techno magic," Evan scoffed, shaking his head in disgust. "You know kid all this robot stuff with souls is cute and all but, its a perversion of magic. Taking you down is gonna prove that once and for all."

"Its not a perversion Evan," Legion replied calmly. "Simply an evolution. The combination of years of technology and magic in one being." Evan scoffed, Legion noticing the dark wizards fists now glowing with a dark light as he charged forward. The merged teen bracing himself as Evan unleashed a fury of blows, knocking the techno wizard back.

"How long can those shields last kid," Evan mocked. "Machines have limits, willpower doesn't. All I got to do is keep swinging til you burn up your power supply." Evan now roared, unleashing a blast of magic that sent Legion tumbling into the nearby woods. Grunting, the techno wizard now stood unsteadily as he braced himself for another attack. Inside his mind though the consciousness of Darren, Steph, and Hannah took stock of what was happening.

"Steph he's wearing out our shield generators," Darren thought in alarm. "He might be right. We can't beat him!"

"Separately no we can't," Steph replied. "He's more experienced with magic and yes, he will exhaust our power supply in a prolonged battle. But we have something he can't beat."

"Will power," Hannah exclaimed excitedly from inside their mind. "We're the ultimate being. A merging of technology and magic. Its time to show this douche bag why your the Catalyst." Legion now smirked, a determined look upon his face as he readied to strike. The personalities within him were correct, they were more than a machine, more than human. They were the culmination of what Darren believed to be the best course to bring humanity forward. A combination of the two working in harmony.

Evan charged, unleashing a devasting blast of magic at Legion, surprised as the merged teenager effortlessly dodged out of the way. "Guess you got some tricks," he smirked.

Legion furrowed his brow, now useing the enhanced Dragons Tongue to deflect Evans attacks, frustrating the dark wizard. Useing his wings, Legion now propelled himself into the air, unleashing an attack of his own that now knocked Evan to the ground.

Roaring angrily, Evan lept to his feet, glaring at the teen angrily. "I know you're wondering how I pierced your defenses," Legion answered. "My targeting computer discovered a weak point. It was then just a simple calculation to exploit that weakness."

Evan chuckled menacingly, dusting himself off before levitating. Slowly the dark wizard now rose until he found himself at the same height as t
Legion, the two powerful beings positioned at least 50 feet off the ground. "Weakness huh," Evan scoffed. "Let me show you how wrong you are."

Legion now watched as Evan began to strain himself. The dark wizard seeming to focus his energy on a single point in front of him. The techno wizard now feeling a tremendous pull from this point. "You ever wonder how I killed the last Catalyst," Evan bellowed. "It was a gravity well. The power of a black hole right at my fingertips. It stripped her of her magic, left her vulnerable and broken. After that it was just one well placed strike to the heart that ended her. Now you get to see it first hand."

Legion now strained against the pull of this gravity well, alarmed by its effects. The spell was indeed draining him, siphoning off his mechanical and magical energy. Even with his boosters at full, he would not be able to maintain his position.

"Darren," Steph thought in alarm. "He's draining our power core! Our levels are plummeting."

"I'm open for suggestions," Hannah replied. It was now the Darren personality that came up with an idea. "Reverse the polarity," he exclaimed. "Direct the spell back at him."

"Can that even work," Hannah asked. Darren's personality was now a calming presence in the mind of Legion. "I know everything that you two know," he assured. "Theoretically it's possible."

"We believe in you Darren," Steph stated. That was all that it took, the belief from his friends as Darren now began to put his plan in motion.

Evan grinned maliciously, watching as the teen struggled against his spell. It would only be a matter of moments before this Catalyst shared the same fate as the last one. Gloating at his impending victory, Evan now failed to noticed as Legion began to power up before unleashing a brilliant beam of white light directly into the gravity well. "What," he exclaimed in shock. Before Evan could act, a brilliant explosion of white now knocked the pair from the sky, Evan crashing to the ground.

Legion now landed, a solemn look on his face as he gazed at Evan. The dark wizard was now slowly getting to his feet, bruised but very much still in the fight. "I'm sorry Evan," he said. "But I'm ending this now."

Evan glanced up, his eyes filled with rage as he looked to counter attack. Instead the dark wizard now found himself blasted with a brilliant beam of blue light. Screaming in pain, Evan now tried to mount a defense, he tried to attack but to no avail. The beam he had been struck by deleting Evans very presence from the world.

As the light faded, Evan now blinked. He felt at peace for the first time in decades. As he gazed at his hands he was at first alarmed by their transparency before finding a certain tranquility with himself. "What happened? Am I dead?"

"I purged your soul," Legion replied. "I removed the darkness that has clouded your very being. Your soul can be at peace now."

Evan blinked, the ghost nodding before pausing. He could hear faint voices behind him, calling out his name. Slowly he now turned, a smile forming on his spectral face as he beheld two other ghostly figures.

"Evan," Lynne said softly, reaching out her ghostly hand. "Come with us." Evan now approached, seeing the smiling faces of his parents. Tom now smiled, reaching out a hand that now made contact with his son. "Cmon son," he said. "Lets go home."

Legion now separated. Darren, Hannah, and Steph now separate entities once more. Although dazed, Darren now looked forward, a surprised smile spreading across his face. Evan Harris had been healed, his soul now able to rest with his parents in the afterlife. The dark wizard gazing back at the rightful Catalyst and offering him a single sentence.

"Thank you."
