Coal the pet dragon could see Max clearly taking on more rat features. By now Max had a full rat tail, his ears were changing & was developing claws. "Now beyond the obvious reason, why did you want me to become a rat?" Max asked Coal curious. The dragon answered "I from the day I hatched saw the 'prey' in you." Confused Max asked "What you talking about?" Coal explained "As you must know we dragons can perceive things you humans can't. I saw 'prey' in you." Still kinda confused Max asked "What does that mean?" The dragon answered "All beings are born as prey or predator. We dragons at our core are predators. You are no predator. You are prey. At your core you are prey. That's why you want to become a rat & be eaten by me." Max thought a bit about what Coal said as his started to become rat feet & said "I feel you are right Coal. I am prey." The dragon in predatory tone said "You are becoming the real you." Max looked at his nearly transformed feet & knew He Was Prey.
