Western Australia, early in the morning. Douglas has just arrived at his destination. Far from the city and civilisation, in the middle of nowhere with zero roads or vehicles to be seen. Just the scorching hot sun, the dry and brittle patches of grass, and the usual cracks in the earth. Doug is glad he can get away with wearing a singlet and shorts, at least for now. He can't imagine moving in his usual gear, though the buildings on the horizon cause a sinking feeling. Yeah... now's about the time he needs to change. Pulling out his phone and dialling to his contact, Vince. His assigned assistant for all missions he's ever been a part of. Since his time joining the government in his early 20s to now in his early 30s. He has always had Vince looking after him and giving him these god-awful missions.
"Hey Doug, Vince here."
"Hey. Learnt anything new?"
"Nah, still the same information. TrueVision have suddenly gotten rich, and people are disappearing. We think they're linked."
"Great... you know the last time you gave me no info I barely got out?"
"Look mate, we're sending you in to get info. TrueVision ain't hiring so we can't send a plant in."
"So, I'm getting the short stick and running in instead."
"SNEAKING in, don't get caught."
"Yeah, yeah. I won't. Going to go in dark though."
"Good, can't risk them picking up any signals. You close?"
"Can see the building already."
"Fuck mate, then hang up already. Longer we talk, more likely they'll find you."
With a beep, Douglas ends the call. Opening up his bag and changing into his usual attire for missions. Darker clothing with a holster and pouches for his firearm and tools. He has learnt from this line of work that a regular gun doesn't do the trick, instead relying on poison darts instead to debilitate whatever he finds. It ends up being better than trying to fire bullets at some unstoppable monstrosity...
He sneaks forward as the sun starts to set. The terrain is flat, and his view of the distance is hazy due to heat. The best he can do is keep low and camouflage with the environment. Sinking towards the distant building, or rather cluster of buildings. The closer he gets, the more widespread he realises this place is. Maybe fifty facilities, some warehouse sized others several stories tall. Encircled by a metal fence, probably electric if Doug had to guess.
It was all going perfect so far. No one around, no drones, and just this fence that he was reaching. The grating itself was going to be easy to climb over, not even electric to his surprise. Letting the man grasp on and move over, entering into the facility as he put his camouflage away. This was easy... too easy. Did they want people breaking in?
He can't get a good look further into the facility. The buildings blocking a view further in, their entrances facing at the opposite end of where he now is. No windows allowing him to peep inside, but movement now being heard around the area. The pure white structures doing little to help him hide, though the dim light of the setting sun is making his job a bit easier. Inspiring him to slink across the walls and start to see some activity. Researchers, dressed in white attire with the TrueVision logo emblazoned on their clothes. Most having pen in hand as they write down notes and focus on... a group of something.
There's at least 12 huge greenskinned humanoids. They look like Orc's you'd see in a fantasy film. Nude baring a loincloth and rutting against one another. Doug's seen weirder things before, using the opportunity to access the situation with the orcs. Seeing the bracelet on their arms as he uses the sexual display to move closer to one of the other buildings. Now's his chance to enter a facility and probe around a bit...
