In the meadow you become aware of the many scents and noises. You can percieve the forest on a scale not humanly possible. Your mind is still human though, and as trippy as the bugs and flowers might seem right now, you still have to find a way back to your life. Your eyesight has improved as well, and recognizing the entire spectrum around you take comfort in not being color blind.
You don't see any jet streams or high power cables. Carefully looking up and down the various slopes opposite yours you see no paved roads, and can't make out any others. Feeling a little discouraged you realize that it's almost noon and you haven't drunk or eaten anything since before your bizarre transformation, and you are quite exhausted. You bark at yourself for being so careless as to have not drunken from that stream when you had the chance, it was hard enough knowing you were dehydrated when you had a body that you were familiar with. You can take care of one biological function though, getting on all fours and raising a hind leg you mark what is now your rock formation. You probably could have done that differently, but matching a dog's movements meant you got nothing on yourself, and now wasn't the time to figure out how to manuever your oddly attached fox cock.
You much on some raspberry looking fruit and casually look back at the forest. You really won't see much more if you go higher. Then you see a square patch of trees slightly smaller than it's neighbors. You're seen that before, that piece of forest was clear cut and then replanted, at least twenty years ago by the height. And where there is logging there is a logging road, concentrating on a specific area you make out pieces of an abandoned dirt road. You can't tell which direction leads where, but following it should be fairly easy and prevent you from getting more lost.
You begin making a plan on how to get there. Your stream feeds a small lake at the base of the valley. You see an easy way down to it through a section of forest that must've been burnt out a couple years back. Going up to the road shouldn't be too tough since you see no signs of cliffs. With any luck you'll find a trail, or even food, by the lake. "Looks like I sat through "Cast Away" for nothing" you think to yourself. You take off immediately, there's no reason why you can't make the logging road by nightfall.
