VIRGO: "THE MEEK SHALL INHERIT"
It was called an evolutionary miracle by some.
It was called a curse from the devil by a few.
Most thought it was a good sign, sent from God. Christians embraced it because they thought it was a manifestation of Jesus words, "the meek shall inherit the Earth".
It only affected boys with glasses, eye patches, blindness, etc. Any eye problems that required corrective lenses, glasses, or who led a vision disabled lifestyle, from 20/30 vision to full blind. It started to affect their hormone production, bone growth rates, muscle growth, and emotional maturity all at once.
They started to behave the ages they became, all aging up and growing more muscular. The AVERAGE rates were as follows for boys with vision problems:
All boys, from the ages of 7 and up, began to inexplicably GROW.
In just one year, all 7 year olds looked like they were 10 years old.
All 8 to 9 year olds resembled 12 year olds.
All 10 to 12 year olds resembled older teenagers at 15 or 16.
All 13 to 14 year olds resembled older teenagers at 17 or 18.
All 15 to 19 year olds resembled older men anywhere between 20 and 25.
These were just the AVERAGE models. In at least 20% of cases, the growth acceleration rates were much higher and in 20% of cases, the acceleration rate was slightly slower. But everyone affected wound up with incredible bodies by their early 20s, bodies that easily became the Apex of Human Evolution. In essence, they became muscular with the bodies of Greek gods as nature tried to correct mistakes made at birth.
They dubbed it Vision Impairment Rapid Growth Organism, or VIRGO for short. They had no idea how it was transmitted. Some thought it was a virus. Others thought it originated with fungal spores that the human body began to reproduce only in boys who needed an advantage. But instead of just getting better vision, they got to go through puberty before other boys, and grew muscle no matter what. Scientists believed evolution was attempting to adjust for so many people being born with low vision. Since the traits had increased with the advent of glasses, more people were born with lower visual abilities. As such, evolution was deciding to help those people reproduce with the help of some kind of agent, but the authorities still hadn't been able to track down the root cause. They believed every place on Earth had been infected within just two months, and the epicenter was believed to be in North America, either in Latin America, the US or Canada. Many theories abounded that the US government had released it purposefully, but people could only speculate.
No adults were affected by VIRGO.
You are going to follow various characters going through new rapid growth cycles. All boys affected became much more athletic, physically attractive in their facial features, released a ton more sex hormones/pheromones, developed deeper voices and seemed to even emotionally mature faster than any of the boys around them, at a faster rate than even their physical growth. Many were skipped ahead several grades to be with their new peers, boys who looked to be the same age as their own. In high schools, most of the boys with glasses resembled adult bodybuilders after just a year or two.
Obesity seemed to be cured within about two years as all the boys with VIRGO developed deep allergies to sweet foods and unhealthy snacks and craved natural foods with high protein and healthy vegetables with lots of vitamins. Any fat boys with glasses were soon looking slim, athletic and sexy as fuck to their classmates.
After a while, it was discovered that in addition to all these gifts, the VIRGO population was also getting better eyesight, albeit slowly. If one was born with a visual impairment, one could hope to see with 20/20 vision by his mid 30s.
