"For a princess, you're pretty beastly," Ashley snorted derisively. Once again, Ashley felt reality itself quake as soon as she finished speaking. Was she somehow causing this. It always seemed to happen right after she finished a sentence...
Ashley was jolted out of her musings when she saw what had happened to Princess Juliana. The princess was no longer fully human. She still had the general human shape (two arms, two legs, standing upright, etc.), but she now possessed the features of a regal lioness. Her feet were a pair of paws, a leonine tail twitched impatiently between her legs, her head had the muzzle and ears of a lioness, and her entire body was covered in tawny gold fur. Ashley even swore she saw the outline of more than one pair of tits beneath preppy button-down shirt and beige jacket. What? The?! FUCK?!
"Beestly?!" Princess Juliana gasped, baring her row of wickedly sharp teeth. "Vhet a beeguted zeeng tu sey! Und I ves begeenning tu zeenk zeet you reespected me in spite ouff our deefferences, Ashley Carter!"
"Why the hell are you a lioness person now?!" Ashley blurted out before she could stop herself.
"Are you feeleeng ilright tudey, Ashley?" Princess Juliana asked, the tone of her richly accented voice changing from offense to concern. "I hefe alveys been un anthro leeoness. I ves burn zeet vey, just leeke iferyone in zee Friesenburg royel fameely."
It occurred to Ashley to consult her memories. Once again, there appeared to be two sets of them. The most natural-feeling set indicated that Princess Juliana had indeed been a human girl less than a minute ago before suddenly transforming into a humanoid lioness. They other (slightly fake-feeling) memories told a very different story. In these memories, Friesenburg was a rather special country. All of the natives of the small Alpine kingdom were varies species of anthropomorphic animal: wolves, cats, foxes, bears, deer, birds, squirrels, just about everything. They were ruled over by a family of lions, and Princess Juliana was the heiress to the throne. Naturally, she'd been born an anthro lioness like her parents. Ashley had been so excited to meet one of the famous animal people of Friesenburg, nevermind a princess. It was so freaking incredible that Princess Juliana had chosen to befriend her!
Ashley shook her head. It was stupid to start thinking about these memories like they'd actually happened. Princess Juliana—no, Jill—was supposed to be a human, and she was an American cheerleader, not European royalty. On the other hand, was that even true anymore? "Jill" was standing right in front of Ashley in the body of an anthro lioness, and she seemed quite convinced that she was a princess as well. Could reality really be changing like this? What was controlling it?
"I'm feeling fine, Your Majesty," Ashley said at last. "I guess I'm still a bit overwhelmed to have a friend like you."
Princess Juliana sighed. "Zeet is understuondeble, Ashley. Ve anthro animels are a preetty rare ootside ouff Friesenburg, iffter all. I ictuelly feel keend ouff selff-cunsceeous, beeng zee ounly anthro in zees schuol. I must steeck out leeke a sore thuomb imung ill zeese humons. It's hard tu feel royel vheen you knuow you're a freek."
"You're not a freak, Your Majesty," Ashley said soothingly, placing a friendly hand on Princess Juliana's furry shoulder...
