Spark was glad that she had lunch with her friends, except for Miles, who unfortunately had a different lunch period from them. But Spark was more than happy for the more time she got to spend with Connor at school.
"So, quick question for you two: if you two have the same last name, how do you reply if people ask you if you're related?" Rei asked Spark and Connor.
"Well, I just tell them that we have the same last names but we're not related. It can be a common last name." Spark said shrugging as she playfully messed with Connor's hair.
Rei and Nat also shared some of their food with each other and teased the other when they weren't going to put the food in the other's mouth. Miranda sighed and just rolled her eyes at her friends.
"You disappointed that you don't have your brother with you to talk with?" Nat asked.
"Or are you a little jealous that you're friends with people who are dating and you're still single?" Spark asked raising an eyebrow.
"Jealous? No, I'm not jealous in the least. I'm not someone who's looking for love right now anyway, they're not just going to walk right into the school." Miranda said as she suddenly glanced to see a red-haired woman in what looked like her mid twenties wearing a green blazer.
Miranda could only watch as the woman came over to her and spoke to her in Spanish.
"Hola como estas? Me puede dirigir a la clase de la Sra. Harris?" The woman asked as Miranda but she seemed to be day dreaming in her own world.
"Can you say that again in English ma'am? I think our friend was a little out of it." Spark said shaking Miranda out of her trance.
"Sorry, I wanted to know if you could direct me to Mrs. Harris's class? I'm going to be her teaching assistant." The red haired woman said.
"Sure, she's in that building right over there?" Connor said pointing to a building behind them.
"Thank you. I hope to see you all in class." The woman said.
"Sure, by the way, are you Spanish? You don't quite look it." Rei asked.
"Half, I'm actually half Scottish and half Spanish. My name's Ms. Bonita McCabe, but it's just Miss McCabe to students." Miss McCabe said as she left the group at the table.
"Miranda, you feeling okay?" Nat asked her friend as she saw Miranda holding her chest.
"I think I'm totally crushing on her." Miranda told her friends.
