The history of "Aunt" Violetta

added by O 2 years ago BM S

With Violetta's identity out in the open, Nat and her friends now found themselves attending a rather awkward dinner with Hanako Tomizawa and her husband Tomas.

Tomas Tomizawa, Rei's half Japanese half Russian father, was a rather remarkable individual with a rather mundane history. Born outside of Minsk to a Russian mother and Japanese father the boy spent his formative years growing up in Soviet Russia before his parents escaped, immigrating to America when Tomas was 10. After the fall of the Soviet Union though Tomas and his parents would often visit relatives in the old country. That was where Violetta came in.

Violetta had been a childhood friend of Tomas, the two becoming school friends before Tomas fled to the states. Afterwards when Tomas would visit his relatives the two would rekindle their friendship. Despite knowing eachother as teenagers, (and both having been quite attractive in their youth) neither ever tried to ruin their friendship with romance.

Now Nat studied the three adults carefully as she sat at the table. Tomas was a handsome man with salt and pepper hair and almond shaped dark eyes, sporting a slight athletic build. Still, looking between Rei's parents she wondered how Tomas could have possibly wooed Hanako. Tomas may have been a 6 or a 7 but Hanako broke the scale.

"So Violetta what brings you into town," Tomas asked. Nat and her friends now looked at the attractive middle age blonde, watching her shift nervously under their gaze. "Business Tomas," she replied quickly. "But, its been so long since I've seen you three. I couldn't pass up the opportunity."

"Yeah I'm sure its one hell of a commute Violetta," Spark smirked, causing the Vila to give the fairy a small frown. Tomas and Hanako now gave the punky green haired teen a curious look. "Do you two know eachother," Hanako asked.

"No no not at all," Violetta stated. "But we may both know someone."

"Really," Tomas remarked in astonishment. "Who is it?"

Violetta was quiet, her eyes wide as she stared at Spark. "Its kinda hard to explain," Spark grinned. "But we both know the um....mayor....of our hometown Tomas."

"Huh small world," Tomas shrugged. Violetta now stood, anxiously looking at Nat, Rei, and Spark before speaking. "Can you excuse me for a moment. I need to talk with Rei for a moment." Tomas and Hanako gave the woman an odd look as she now made a beeline for the spare bedroom, Nat, Rei, and Spark now following behind the woman as she quickly made her way into the spare bedroom before locking the door.

"Okay Vila," Spark stated. "Spill it. Whats the deal between you and Rei's dad?"

Violetta sighed frowning at Spark. "Os she always so persistent? And smug?"

"You call it smug I call it confidence," Spark smiled. "So stop stalling, whats the deal with you and Tomas?"

"Um can I ask a question," Rei asked meekly. Violetta now turned to her adopted niece, her cheeks blushing brightly. "Of course Rei what is it?"

"Can you transform into a fairy," Rei asked. Violetta gawked, slightly taken aback by Rei's request. "Um sure Rei, I can do that."

Nat and Rei now watched Violetta in anticipation, the beautiful mid aged blonde taking a deep breath before closing her eyes. Gazing at the woman, the two teens were confused as nothing seemed to be happening. Before they could ask Violetta a question they noticed her beginning to shrink before their eyes.

Violetta was now growing smaller, Nat and Rei watching the inches bleeding away from from the woman. Nat and Rei watched Violetta grow smaller, her clothing shrinking with the woman as she raced towards fairy size. As that happened the two watched as Violetta's blonde hair seemed to grow out, passing her shoulders and descending to her waist.

As Violetta's transformation completed itself, Rei and Nat were surprised to see Violetta looked very much like her grown self, just with longer hair and wings. The Vilas wings now sprang to life, the fairy hovering before the teens with a sullen look. "So this is what I truely look like?"

"Why didn't you say anything," Rei asked.

"Also why would a Vila help Tomas," Spark added.

"Both easy questions to answer," Violetta stated. "First, would you have believed ne if I said I was a Russian fairy Rei?" Rei paused before shaking her head no. She wouldn't have believed any if this until recently.

"As to your question Spark," Violetta said. "Its easy. What can you tell me about the Vila."

"Well," Spark stated. "They're of Slavic origin. Usually help the hero on their quest."

"Exactly," Violetta smiled. "Which is what led me to Tomas." Rei, Nat, and Spark now listened as Violetta told her tale.

Violetta now shared her story. How she had been born to a pair of fairies who wished to live in the human world. Spark was surprised to hear this, learning that Violetta knew of the Fairy Queen yet rarely visited. Growing up in Soviet Russia, the young fairy and her family lived nearby to Tomas's family. The two children becoming friends.

The two were inseparable as children, often going to school and playing throughout their youth. Then, Violetta learned that her best friend Tomas was going to flee the country. Despite Violetta's youth, she felt it in her nature that she should help Tomas escape.

"So you helped my dad flee Soviet Russia," Rei asked.

"Of course," Violetta said. "Do you have any idea how hard it is to escape from the Red Army and the KGB?"

"Okay so your natural instincts kicked in," Spark stated. "Why keep looking out for Tomas and his family?"

"Hes my best friend since we were kids," Violetta exclaimed. "After the Soviet Union fell Tomas and his family would return to visit family. We still kept in touch, Tomas family did nothing wrong save flee communist Russia. It also helped I used a bit of magic to make the KGB forget that his parents fled. Still, when I talked with Tomas I realized something?"

"What," Nat asked.

"Rei," Violetta smirked. "As handsome as you dad is, he really doesn't have alot confidence. Especially when talking with women."

"Yeah dad has always been kinda quiet," Rei shrugged.

"Of course he has," Violetta stated. "He was always shy. Thats why I decided to help him out."

"How so," Spark asked.

"Well," Violetta said. "When we grew up I decided to work in business. Traveled the world and since it was the 90s it meant I flew into Japan alot. So imagine my surprise when I ran into Tomas."

"And that's when you introduced him to my mom," Rei asked.

"Well she did work as a hostess at a high end restaurant frequented by business men. I had gotten to know Hanako relatively well and seeing that Tomas had an immediate crush, I set them up on a date. The rest is, well you know."

Nat, Spark, and Rei nodded, still having questions but now understanding Rei's parents a little better. "Guess my family isn't as boring as I thought Nat," she grinned. Nat nodded in agreement, Rei's family history was indeed a little more exciting than either girl had been led to believe.
