"Are you...high or something?" She asked. Ethan didn't seem like the type...but something was wrong with him. And where was that damn static coming from? It was starting to give her a headache.
"No..." he said, slowly. She looked down, and noticed he was barefoot as well.
"Jeeze...is there some kind of sneaker thief around here?" she said, looking around. She spotted some visitors and that goody-two-shoes Julia Chen looking at Roxie...and they were all barefoot too. Madison had grown fond of Roxie...she hoped the beagle got adopted...and... "What the hell?" Roxie was wearing shoes. She looked around at the other dogs in cages...sneakers, shoes, a pair of pumps...
"The dogs are wearing shoes," she said, a bit shrilly.
"So?" Ethan said, continuing to fill out the paperwork he'd been working on. "They always wear shoes."
Madison looked completely bewildered at that. She looked around again, then back at Ethan, who was sitting on the floor...a moment before he'd been in a chair. She blinked, the static growing louder in her ears.
She spun around, feeling disoriented and confused, noticing that Julie and the family were all topless. She looked down...feeling the air against her skin...noticing her shirt was gone.
