Nant gingerly pushed the door open and entered.
It was not what they expected.
Instead of the inside of a cottage, Nant found themselves in a large, spacious living room, with a widescreen TV hanging from the wall and comfortable furniture scattered all around. There were paintings and pennants all over the walls, and to one side a fireplace roared. There were several people lounging in the armchairs and sofas It all looked very familiar.
That's when Nant realized. It had been a while, but it was unquestionably Allie's old sorority house, Theta Rho Alpha Nu Sigma. Sure enough, they could identify all the people there.
"Hey Nant!" said one of the figures on the sofa, waving to them. Tall and tanned, her blonde hair tied into two bouncy pigtails, Michelle was one of the higher-ups in the sorority, and seemed determined to live up to the cheerleader stereotype. She was even in her cheerleader outfit, with her pompoms next to her. "Come in, we missed ya!" she called, as if it was completely normal that a winged, androgynous naked figure had walked in.
"What have you been up to?" said Chloe. The full-figured nursing major tossed her thick mane of curly brown hair over her shoulders.
"Probably flying around as usual", said Kim with a smile. The petite, nerdy, short-haired Asian pushed her glasses up on her nose. Sure enough, it seemed that the dream made Nant's existence perfectly normal and accepted by everyone.
"Well, um, I..." said Nant sheepishly, rubbing the back of their head.
"Ladies, please, can't you see that they're uncomfortable?" said Layla. The willowy, raven-haired engineering student waved her arms to try to get the other sisters to quiet down.
"Aw, they were just asking politely" said Angel, the curvy, laid-back psych major. She scratched her frizzy black hair as she looked thoughtfully at Nant.
"What's the matter?" asked Nant.
"Oh, you look like you're two people", blurted out Isabel. The freckled ginger biology student kind of was in the habit of being blunt about things, and this was no exception.
"Ah", said Nant simply, unsure where to go from there. They looked out the window, where the forest was still there. This internal paradox existed within the cottage only.
