"Really, Carl?" Adam reached for the controller slowly, not believing he was getting a turn at the device so soon. A wave of guilt washed over him - Coral, no, Carl now... his sibling really was such a nice person, despite what she'd done to him. There'd been no malice in her actions, even if Adam thought being turned back into a 5-year-old was sort-of cruel. Obviously Carl didn't see it that way.
While he felt some remorse for what he was about to try to do, the idea had popped into his head and he couldn't seem to think of anything else at the moment. Besides, maybe the controller wasn't able to change people in that way, and really, he thought Carl might kinda like it. He'd always been really into all sorts of animals...
Navigating to the overall settings, he made a few changes:
AWARENESS: User and Subject Only
TIME LIMIT: 10 minutes
LENGTH OF CHANGE: 1 minute
PAIN - PLEASURE SCALE: 7 Moderately Pleasurable (he didn't want to go any higher than that - this was his sibling, after all. He already felt like he'd seen too much!)
He toggled back to the subject profiles and selected Carl's stats, cursoring right to select the dots that showed further features and options. Scrolling quickly down, he glanced up for a moment and was glad to see that Carl was somewhat distracted by all the 'new' toys littered around his room. Ah HA! There were the options he was looking for! Altering a few stat under his brother's profile, he returned to the main page and hovered over the SUBMIT CHANGES button, feeling suddenly like he should warn him before it started.
"Okay, so, I've decided on the changes I want to make first, Carl." his brother looked up from where he'd been positioning the head of the Apatosaurus as if it was eating the carpet. "I'm going to change you, but I set it to have a time limit, then you'll automatically change back. And I think you'll really like it, plus I made it so you could feel the changes in a good way, so you should maybe describe what you're feeling so we know what that's like for next time! What do you think?"
Carl looked excited, but he asked "What are you going to change about me?"
"I think it will be fun if it's a surprise... I promise it's nothing bad or like, making you super old or anything! What if you try to guess as you change?" He was frankly ready to get started whether Carl agreed or not, but he was happy to see his brother nodding eagerly, coming to sit upright on his knees. Adam clicked to submit and sat back to watch as the changes began.
