Finding out that Darren had possibly only become his boyfriend because Chris was short and cute had really upset Chris. It wasn't because he thought Darren was a bad guy. Darren had always been super caring and protective of Chris. He could be quite wild in bed, especially with all the fetishes he kept introducing Chris to. But out in public, Darren always acted like a protective big brother.
However, the revolation that Darren was attracted to him for his young proportions had really shocked Chris. Not only was that illegal, but it was shunned by society and just... Just wrong. And it stirred unfamiliar emotions in Chris. But most of all, it made Chris feel like he was just a substitute for his lover's real emotions. Was he just the best thing Chris could get. A second choice. And what about when he grew a little older. Would Darren become disinterested in him and leave?
All that fear and confusion, mixed with the shock and social stigma had caused Chris to freak out and have that huge fight with Darren. He didn't actually hate Darren. He was just afraid and overwhelmed. Now that he'd had a minute to calm down, all the anger had left him, leaving only sadness. But this Chronivac program might change all that. Maybe he could turn himself into Darren's ideal lover?
With trembling hands, he began to work. For now he kept all the reality settings unchanged. All he was altering was his own body. They could change how friends, family and society reacted to or remembered them later.
Darren was sitting on the sofa in the living room trying to process what was happening. Chris hated him now. He'd leave him. Darren took another swig of the whisky he'd pored himself. Yes he found Chris cute for being boyish, but he truly loved his boyfriend. Was there any hope for them anymore though?
"Darren?" Chris called tentatively from around the corner. Darren stood up abruptly. It was definitely Chris' voice, but it sounded lighter and softer.
"Yes?" Darren answered. There was a moments hesitation.
"Darren, I'm sorry for loosing my temper. I... I just... Can we start over again and talk?"
"Yes! Yes, please. I'm sorry as well," Darren said, feeling that hope return. A small hand took hold of the edge of the hallway and a young face poked shyly around it. Darren stared. It was an extremely cute young boy with blushing cheeks. But also, it was unmistakably Chris. Did Chris have a kid brother?
Self-consciously, Chris stepped forward to reveal himself. He had tried to model himself a bit after the images he'd seen on Darren's computer, while keeping his own identity.
His clothes had fallen off him when hed shrunk. There had been clothes altering options in the chronivac as well, but Chris hadn't had the time or patience for that. He'd been so anxious about showing his boyfriend that he couldn't wait. All he was wearing now was the white blanket from the bed, wrapped around his little naked body and trailing after along the floor like a wedding dress. One of his now completely smoothly and hairless, slender legs was visible in the gap where Chris had pulled the blanket around himself. It revealed his skin right up to his hip. The blanket was very thin and slightly transparent in the sunlight streaming it through the apartment window.
Darren was speachless. Chris was an angel. A beautifully beyond compare. How was this possible?
Tears beaded in corners of Chris' eyes. His boyfriend wasn't saying anything. Did he hate it?
"I changed myself with this," Chris said, desperate for approval, and holding out the chronivac that he'd put onto his phone. "For you." Lifting his arm like that revealed even more skin underneath the blanket. "You can have it. You can change me however you want. I don't care. Just... Just don't leave me. Please! I'm sorry I yelled at you before. I'll be good from now on. I'll..." Tears were flowing freely now.
Darren was at his side in moments. Not grabbing the chronivac, but him. Holding him. Picking him up in his arms with such ease. Darren kissed away his tears.
"I'll never leave you, Baby Boy." His pet name for Chris. "Never ever." Another kiss. "You would really become a child for me?"
"I'll be whatever you want. You can even change my mind and memories with this." He put the chronivac phone in Darren's hand. "I don't care as long as I get to be with you. I love you!"
"You have no idea how much that trust means to me," Darren said, taking the phone from the boy's hand and kissing him full on the lips. "I love you too."
Darren carried Chris back over to the sofa and say down with the boy on his lap. Even elevated on Darren's lap, Chris still had to look up at his lover. Darren slowly stroked Chris' hair as he looked forward out the window and the city. Their apartment was high up with a great view. Darren's money and connections had already been a huge change in Chris' life. How much more would it now change?
Darren held up the phone with the chronivac app. "So I can change whatever I want with this?" Chris nodded. "Are you sure? You know I have a lot of odd fetishes." Chris nuzzeled his face into Darren's shirt.
"It's okay. I want you to decide. Besides, even though I'm always a bit hesitant to try, I always love the things you do to me in the end."
"Even the time I get you to walk through that forest naked?" Darren teased. Chris' ears grew even reder as he squirmed with embarisment at the memory. Darren smiled. "Let's see, what should I change first?"
