Sam, clutching her ruined arm, katana tucked down the back of her shirt, staggered down the street looking for help. A man approached her, looking rather helpful, but as he lead her towards his home, his wife came storming out, screaming.
"Fool! Look at that sword she's got! That's the cursed blade, from the forest! And her arm, what did that? It was the wolfman I'd bet! We must send her away, or she'll curse us all!"
Sam tried to argue otherwise, but... she was pretty cursed so far. She at least managed to negotiate her way to some clean water and a bit of food before being sent back out into the woods. Her arm looked a bit better than it had at first after the wound was cleaned out, and the angry woman shunning her was at least nice enough to give her a loaf of bread and a large hunk of sharp cheese.
So back to the woods it was, still trying to get as far from that werewolf as she could, and hoping to find some way to fix all this. She wondered if maybe the sword cursing her into a woman might override turning into a werewolf... she really needed to find a better way to carry it too. Eventually though, she ran out of path.
She'd been following a stream for the better part of a day, and it had lead to a lake, which was also fed by a river. She'd been following the river because staying by fresh water seemed like the thing to do, but tracing it towards its source, she found a waterfall. So now it was either up the cliff, across the river, or back the way she came. She'd at least finished the bread and cheese, so all she had to worry about carrying was the katana, and her arm seemed well enough to try. This almost certainly wouldn't lead to disaster.
