After a much needed break, Jeff now found himself returning to school. This time though he was acting as the chauffeur to the six adults he had returned to childhood.
Pulling into the parking lot, Jeff now opened the backdoor of his new SUV, (not so much new, when he altered reality he found his car transformed from a 2016 Sedan to a 2016 SUV with plenty of room for half a dozen kids). Jeffs passengers now surged forward, the group of children barreling towards class. Gazing at the group of former adults he couldn't help but smile.
The changes he had seen in his test subjects, for lack of a better term, was remarkable. Ryan, Jane, Lizzy, and Hannah were remarkably kinder since reverting to childhood. Even scared little Joey seemed better although Jeff was curious if the boy would grow braver as he grew older. Hopefully Hannah could instill some confidence in the kid and his puppy Barney could teach him how to care about others.
Glancing at Tommy though, Jeff was torn. Yes, Tommy was an incredibly sweet natured kid yet when he had returned Harry to his teens, Jeff noticed Tommy retreat a little into himself. Without the presence of the preschooler, Tommy took a small step back. Having a younger child to look out for had brought out a part of Tommy that Jeff had been impressed with. While Jeff noted that Tommy appeared to be the one this motley crew of first graders looked too, he was a quiet leader. Maybe Jeff could help the quiet boy regain
some confidence by giving him a sense of responsibility once again.
This is what Jeff now thought about as he moved towards the school entrance. Despite the town being small enough to host every grade level in one school, there were a surprisingly large amount of old teachers. Teachers who seemed just a bit to bitter and burnt out. Perhaps Jeff could find one of those teachers and gift them a second chance.
One teacher he would have to see though was the new Assistant Principal Cheyenne Evans. Mrs. Evans had gifted Jeff a 500 word report before Spring Break on the responsibility and development of early childhood. While Jeff had begrudgingly completed the assigned, he wondered how much fun it would be to let Mrs. Evans experience early childhood for herself.
Finally their was Harry, Becky, and Alicia. For the pair of Freshman, Jeff wanted to see how they were doing. Both teens appeared to be doing remarkably well, Jeff happy with returning them to their teens, He wondered though if they wouldn't be better off returning to preschool. A pair of preschoolers who Jeff knew would turn out alright and who could help Tommy grow in the long run.
As for Alicia, Jeff wondered what he would do with his pregnant girlfriend. Alicia was still anxious about the pregnancy, still not having worked up the nerve to tell her mother. While Jeff told her he would support whatever her decision was (as well as support the baby) she remained apprehensive. Jeff now considered returning Cris to adulthood or even finally telling Alicia about the Chronovac.
All these thoughts now bounced around Jeffs head as he entered school. Whatever he decided, he knew it would be interesting.
