It all began with a simple walk in the woods. You'd considered staying in doors and watching TV, but staying at your friend 'Tobs' cabin in the woods was all about going outside and just taking a small break from the hustle and bustle of Urban Life.
Little did you know that this would be a more extended stay than either of you anticipated.
You left a little too late, stupidly failing to notice the time, and eventually found yourself wandering though the woods late at night. You stumbled round for hours, desperately trying to stay calm and yet slowly finding yourself unraveling.
"Shit I'm stupid" You muttered under your breath, whispering as if you weren't alone.
It was then, staring up at the night sky you watched the full moon glow above you. The sky was rich with colour too; rich hues of black and blue dotted with bright white lights. Back home, you'd never see a sky like this... Lost in a world of your own you took too long to notice a twig snap behind you and a powerful and deep growl.
The rest of the night was a blur. You recalled something big, dark and hairy launching at you. At first you thought it was a bear, but though the haze you noticed its human-like body that was too thin to be a bear with human-like hands and an outright wolfish face. You recalled struggling as the creature pinned you down and you punching and kicking at its head. You punched made your knuckles ache while the beast failed to even flitch. You could have sworn whilst staring into its yellow eyes that the creature enjoyed it. Then came a pain worse than the scratches and the weight of the beast on top of you; you saw it's jaw lung at your shoulder and sink it's sticky white teeth into it.
You howled in pain, your hand stretching and scrambling for a nearby stick. Your fingers managed to scrape the solid stick into your hand and then you swung it into the beasts side. It howled in agony, leaning it's weight off you enough for you to climb to your feet and scram. You sprinted and sprinted faster and faster before you collapsed exhausted at the foot of a hill. Looking back up you felt a sickening relief to see the wooden cabin. You practically kicked the door down to get it open and violently slammed it shut one you were inside. You were in pain, gripping you shoulder now as the adrenaline wore off.
"I need a shower." You said, as if that would solve everything.
Clumsily undressing, you felt hot flushes flicker on and off across your body. Your entire body began to quiver and you weakly stepped into the shower. You leaned into the wall for support as you let the hot water trickle down over you. As your senses calmed, you filled your hand with body wash and slavered it over the bite mark. You grimaced as you did this, shouting occasionally in pain. The injury was deep and was covered in blood. Clearly it had been bleeding heavily, but curiously had already began to clot. Your senses were still stinging, no doubt you were going into shock. Stepping out of the shower, you dried yourself halfheartedly as your emotions began to numb.
"Well, I'm definitely in shock," You said, barely making a whisper.
You then stumbled to bed, your mind already too strained to keep you conscious to bother with clothes. The nudity felt freeing and safer to the senses that noticed and still lingered on awake. Even if you were thin, ungainly and small. Collapsing into bed you were out instantly.
Your body ached as you stirred awake, mourning light trickling into the bedroom. You were still tired. Still, you felt better than you had.
